**Business Owners Unite: Pursuing Happiness Together**
Inflation may be up, but is that really what is making you miserable? BNI and JCI want to share how entrepreneurs and business owners handle tough situations to raise their happiness and well being.
In an unprecedented initiative celebrating the UN International Day of Happiness, business owners from diverse industries have come together to make a bold covenant: to pursue happiness collectively.
The move emphasizes the importance of focusing on unique individual strengths to promote organizations that thrive.
"We believe that true success in business is measured not only by financial achievements but also by the happiness and well-being of all those involved," says Apa Alviar, chief exuberance officer of the BNI Manila South Region. "Business owners won’t need to be alone anymore. You can be surrounded by Leaders Serving Leaders, so together we create a ripple effect of positivity that extends beyond our businesses and into the lives of our employees, customers, and communities. This is how we contribute to BNI's global vision of changing the way the world does business."
The covenant was signed by the 36 core members of the newly-launched BNI Headway chapter, along with the presidents of sixteen chapters of JCI Metro South region. They discussed key principles and actions that the participating businesses will uphold, including committing to support each other's organizations and promote the mental and emotional well-being of business owners and employees, as well as supporting local community initiatives and charitable causes aimed at promoting happiness and well-being for all.
Michael Pizarro, regional vice president of JCI Metro South region shares, "This agreement represents a beacon of hope and positivity in challenging times. "It's inspiring to see businesses coming together to prioritize happiness and well-being, not just profits."
Gallup reported in 'Wellbeing at Work' that only 22% of workers globally are engaged. Further, Gallup discovered that engaged workers who are not thriving in their lives are much more vulnerable and add risk to their organizations.
For example, comparing employees who are engaged but not thriving in life with those who are engaged and thriving, those in the former group report the following risks:
- 61% higher likelihood of burnout
- 48% higher likelihood of daily stress
- 66% higher likelihood of daily worry
- double the rate of daily sadness and anger
The participating members of JCI Metro South Region and referral partners of BNI Manila South Region invite other business leaders in the area to join them in their pursuit of happiness and to spread the message of positivity and collaboration.
