IBENGUET MUAY THAI FIGHTER BRINGS HOME GOLD AND SILVER FROM INTERNATIONAL COMBAT SPORTS MEET
Congratulation Michael Rimando and your team!

Michael Rimando of Benguet made a remarkable return to the Muay Thai ring after nearly five years away from training and competition, bringing home gold and silver medals from the Siamyout Global Heritage Muay Thai Series 2026.

For Rimando, however, the comeback itself was already a victory.

“I may not have taken the win this time, but stepping back into the ring was already a victory in itself,” he shared.

He credited his comeback to the support of his coaches and mentors, including Ajarn Brenda Ley, Ajarn Sane Tubtimtong, Kru Nivla Ofloda, Kru Joseph ‘Silverback’ Lim, Coach RustyBoy Macaraeg, Kru Vince Miraflor, Kru Vernie Garcia, Kru Rho J. Fajutrao, Kru Limbaga E. Krisna, Coach Dollzen Lei, and Coach Rex Ter.

He also thanked Master Ekger Mono, the Siamyout organizers and crew, as well as his work buddies Jade Salvador and Leanne Frank Telesforo for their support.

“I may have stepped into the ring alone, but I was never truly alone,” Rimando said, expressing gratitude to everyone who believed in him.

After almost five years away, the Benguet fighter is back and proving that sometimes, the courage to return is already a victory.
