𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗦 | 𝐍𝐃𝐌𝐔 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐒𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
The Notre Dame of Marbel University - Integrated Basic Education Department (NDMU-IBED) softball team showcased their dominance in the 2025 Marist Meet Softball Competition at NDMU Main Campus, finishing with an impressive 4-0 record held on January 30-31.
NDMU team composed by Sthaicy B. Enogaling of 10-St. Julian Eymard, Ysha Nicole L. Bobon of 10-St. Clare, Mauriz Jane Genovia of 9-St. Peter Chanel, Jheziree R. Lapastora of 9-St. John Mary Vianney, Rhian Antoinette M. Falle of 9-St. Peter Chanel, Rana P. Kazi of 9-St. Bridget, Dashley Flores of 9-St. John, Angel Mariano of STEM 12-St. Mark, Princess Antonette De Pedro of STEM 12-St. Mark, Angel Apilan of STEM 12-St. Paul of the Cross, Cryzzia Marie A. Pereira of STEM 12-St. Phillip Neri, Princess Ria Falle of HUMSS 11-St. Anne, and Jenny Magnaong of STEM 12-St. Paul of the Cross, breezed through the pitching field, hitting a home run for their campus.
In their opening match, they faced Notre Dame of Kidapawan and set the tone with a commanding 14-point win. Their momentum continued in the second game against Notre Dame of Dadiangas University (NDDU) Lagao, where they displayed exceptional teamwork and skill, securing a 12-point victory for Marbel. In the third match, NDMU triumphed over NDDU Espina with a 13-point win. Fourth and final match, NDMU secured a flawless 4-0 record, finishing with another victory, winning by 5 points against Notre Dame of Cotabato and clinching the gold.
"Uhmm, actually it's very challenging for us... Because we know we have no power to win, but at that moment, we told ourselves that we have a goal to complete. And it's very unexpected because it's the first time in history that we brought home the gold", Genovia, a player from NDMU stated in an interview.
With their undefeated run, NDMU once again proved their excellence in softball, demonstrating solid defense, powerful hitting, and remarkable team chemistry. Their outstanding performance in the tournament reinforces their reputation as one of the top Marist teams.
Coach Jojo Suarez, along with teacher coach Ma’am Marie Fe Cabuga and assistant teacher coach Ma’am Lenilyn Balaod, guided the team to this historic victory, ensuring their hard work, discipline, and dedication paid off.
As the tournament concluded, NDMU celebrated not only their victories but also the spirit of competition, with their triumph contributing significantly to the overall score tally.
