Jorge Barlin FC Founder, KIM OROBIA, represented the Philippines in a global meeting of coaches and international organizations focused on crisis management, organizational preparedness, and resilience.
The meeting brought together participants from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Haiti, India, Kenya, Nepal, Philippines, Spain, and the United States, providing a platform for coaches and organizations to share experiences and strategies for responding to crises affecting their communities.
Representing the Philippines, Coach Kim highlighted the recurring impact of typhoons and flooding on communities across the country. He shared how these realities have encouraged Jorge Barlin FC to integrate basic life support and first-aid training into its player-development initiatives.
Beyond football development, the program seeks to equip young players with practical knowledge and skills that can help them respond responsibly during emergencies; strengthening the role of grassroots football as a platform for community preparedness, resilience, and youth empowerment.
Coach Kimβs participation brought a spotlight of Philippine perspective to the global conversation, demonstrating how grassroots sports can contribute not only to developing athletes, but also to building safer and more resilient communities.
