On February 17โ25, 2026, the CPU Tumandok Dance Company, representing Central Philippine University and the Philippines, participated in a cultural exchange program in Osaka, Japan, with visits to the cities of Kawachinagano and Hashimoto. The program highlighted cultural sharing and artistic collaboration through dance workshops, school engagements, and stage performances.
During the exchange, CPUTDC conducted dance workshops where Filipino movements and traditional styles were introduced to Japanese students, encouraging interactive learning and cultural appreciation. They also performed selected school presentations and showcased their acclaimed production โSaludo Sais: PAMANA Sayaw ng Bayan,โ which celebrates the rich cultural heritage of the Philippines through various regional dances.
The experience was further enriched by school visits, where both Filipino and Japanese students exchanged performances and participated in cultural activities that strengthened mutual understanding and friendship. Through these meaningful interactions, the CPU Tumandok Dance Company served as cultural ambassadors, promoting Filipino identity while gaining a deeper appreciation of Japanโs local communities and traditions.
