Day 7. Good day today, lots of small jobs done, more coats of latex to styro.
- Dry fitted remaining deck, cut-outs for battery box, fuel box, fish cooler & consol cr.
- Glassed in stringers. This is the first time we've used resin on the styro & I was very interested to see if the latex barrier coats prevented the Styrene from melting the styro. Largely it did, but this was a vertical surface & I'm a little concerned about this application on the deck so will experiment with different primers tomorrow.
- Primer coat to T-Top
- Last pic shows some of the debris removed from the hull earlier;in addition we took out 4 binfulls of waterlogged plywood dust. With the old fuel tank, centre consol, waterlogged plywood & heavy glass fibre deck removed we've taken out about 400kg & using high density styrofoam & Foamex we've put back less than 70kg, a weight loss of over 330 kg, which should give better performance & economy, in addition to the buoyancy, resistance to rot, water absorbsion & soundproofing advantages.

Day 6.- 3rd laminate to transom- Finish stringers- Loose fit deck- Position consol for deck cut-out
