Mark Canon is a level 2 surf coach, an accreditation granted to him by Siargao Island Surfing Association (SISA). He is a highly experienced surfer born in the island of Siargao. He has been

surfing since he was 8 y.o. and has a record of tournaments to exhibit.

As a coach, Mark applies patience, focus, safety, and adaptability to ensure that the student learns the necessary skills to gain confidence in the water. He delivers the feedback live for the learning process to happen faster. Well-versed in all the surfing spots, he can show you how to read the tides and swells. “I'm really looking forward to just going to a beach and feeling the sand underneath my feet.. I miss sea spray, smelling the ocean. I miss hiring a boat to some nearby island and doing a bit of snorkeling, buying fresh buko juice inside an actual coconut for cheap. I miss kakanin (rice cakes) and sikwate (hot chocolate).”

Hopefully, it looks like things are starting to pick up for tourists—at least domestically—in the Philippines, after more than a year of relative quiet.

The Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT) has recently been awarded the use of the Safe Travels Stamp from the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).

For those abroad just waiting for the right time to come back to the Philippines, where more fun awaits them, the idea of a reunion brings comfort.
