Had a quick dip and got to test the new Basilisk 0.5 wetsuit.😍

It felt so light in the water, almost like I wasn’t wearing anything. The glide felt smooth, and it’s lighter to carry and quick to dry after the dive.😌

Great for fun dives, but it also has the performance for serious training and competition level diving when every bit of speed, glide, and efficiency counts.👌

Basilisk Abyss (black) befriending what lurks in the darkest of corners.

This wetsuit is inspired on the idea of having something light weight to carry around while travelling that provides environmental protection.

Imagine yourself set for an aura dive, but you have to cancel because the water environment has their residence stingers of all kinds. So having a light weight wetsuit that provides protection, you can now enjoy your dives despite the environmental conditions.

The material is made of 0.5mm polyurethane composite fabric with hydrophobic properties. It can also be used as a performance suit for any water sports.

Like Jesus Christ who walked on water, the Basilisk Lizard or Jesus Christ Lizard can “Run on water” with an average speed of 15 feet per second as research claimed, hence the name Basilisk. Putting one on feels like you are wearing nothing, making the athlete “Run on water” easily.

Watching spearos get certified is always interesting. 🤿

It’s amazing to see how these strong and experienced divers, who are already comfortable hunting and diving at depth, can set aside what they already know and be open to learning a whole new set of skills. This time, with a focus on freediving safely, efficiently, and with proper technique.

From the pool requirements all the way to the depth requirements, these two made it look easy! 💪
Their strength, experience, and adaptability really showed throughout the course.

Now, I’m excited to see where freediving takes them next. More adventures, deeper dives, and hopefully even more stories from below. 🌊☺️

Join us for a 2day, 1night camp as we dive into the beauty beneath the waves of Dauin and explore the mountains of Negros. ☺️

Whether you’re new to freediving or looking to polish your skills, this trip is a chance to learn, dive, explore, and simply enjoy the outdoors.

After the dives, we’ll slow things down with a dip in a hot spring, good coffee with an overlooking view from a neighboring town, and a night camping by the sea.

A little diving, a little mountain air, good coffee, and good company. See you out there. 🤙

Train with Mariko a multi-national record holder (JAPAN) and continental record holder across both pool and depth freediving disciplines. She’ll be sharing her knowledge through a full day of learning, practical drills, and fun. 😍
