Collaborating with renowned institutions such as the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) and local government units, Kahayag fuels the electrifying dance tradition of the Philippines. From Macau to Nanning, China, Cambodia to South Korea, Taiwan to Shanghai, and beyond, Kahayag has left an indelible mark o

n international platforms, showcasing the lively essence of Philippine dance culture throughout our illustrious two-decade history. Kahayag's dedication to cultural leadership and artistic excellence was splendidly demonstrated when it achieved the prestigious Grand Prize at the 2015 World Cultural Dance Festival in South Korea. This extraordinary feat not only honored our nation but also garnered significant recognition. The City Government of Dumaguete acknowledged Kahayag with a Resolution of Recognition, while the Province of Negros Oriental bestowed upon them the title of Resident Artistic Group and the esteemed Sidlak NegOrense distinction. Further elevating their stature, Kahayag was honored with the coveted "Ani ng Dangal" award by the National Commission for Culture & the Arts (NCCA). This national accolade recognizes their exceptional achievement in attaining the highest level of artistic excellence and bringing honor to our country through international recognition. Currently, under the stewardship of its board of trustees, the company continues to flourish and carry its legacy forward.

The Buglasan Festival holds a special place in the heart of Kahayag Dance Company, as it means not only a celebration of culture and artistry but also a tribute to our roots and the community that continues to inspire us. Each performance we share is a sincere expression of gratitude to the people of Negros Oriental whose unwavering support has fueled our passion through the years. As we look back on this year’s Buglasan, we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has stood with Kahayag, and we look forward to many more opportunities to illuminate the pride and spirit of our province through dance.
