Andres Bonifacio College proudly welcomes Brigadier General Patricio Suya Tomales, Philippine Army, as the Commencement Speaker for the 80th Commencement Exercises.
A proud Bonifacian, BGen Tomales earned his Bachelor of Elementary Education from Andres Bonifacio College in Dipolog City and was designated at that time as the Senior Class Speaker of the Graduating Class of 1990. His journey in leadership and service began through the ABC-ROTC Unit, where he completed the Advanced ROTC Course before entering military service in the Philippine Army in 1992.
Through years of dedication, discipline, and excellence, he steadily rose through the ranks and now serves as the Deputy Commander of Reserve Command, Philippine Army. Throughout his distinguished military career, he has held several key leadership positions, including Group Commander of the 9th Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army; Battalion Commander of the 15th Infantry Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division, Philippine Army; and Operations Officer of the 1002nd Infantry Brigade, 10th Infantry Division, Philippine Army.
BGen Tomales is also a recipient of numerous military awards and commendations, including the Distinguished Service Star, Distinguished Service Medal, Silver Wing Medal, and eight Bronze Cross Medals, in recognition of his exemplary combat, administrative, and leadership achievements in service to the nation.
From being an ABC student and ROTC cadet to becoming a Brigadier General, his inspiring journey reflects perseverance, leadership, patriotism, and commitment to service. May his story inspire our graduates as they begin a new chapter towards excellence, purpose, and success.
