or the coming school year, one of the imminent problems that incoming freshies ng bayan may face is the modern barrier that keeps us behind our own screens—unable to socialize like the usual. However, why not use this barrier as a tool instead to reverse the said effect? The UP E-skolympics is a week-long program with the goal of creating a safe space for incoming freshies, shifties, and transferies (FSTs) to socialize with their fellow batchmates / coursemates through organizing different online gaming tournaments, mini-games, and gimmicks. The program aims to promote teamwork and bonding between the FSTs and their respective departments / campuses; furthermore helping them de-stress before the new academic year starts. The UP E-skolympics holds on to its goal of sparking sportsmanship, teamwork, and improving socialization between each and every incoming FSTs despite the limited interaction.
