𝐊𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐨

More than a decade ago, during the Palarong Pambansa, an athlete made headlines after he and several fellow athletes returned 50,000 cash they found inside their billeting school. Today, he remains part of the Palarong Pambansa not as a competitor, but as a trainer who continues to instill discipline and honesty among his athletes.

At 28, Louie H. Villacorte has never strayed far from the world of gymnastics. As an athlete, he competed in the Palarong Pambansa three times, carrying with him the dreams of every young gymnast who steps on the mat. He later pursued his Senior High School education at National University and earned a Bachelor of Physical Education degree in college.

Though he has yet to teach inside a classroom, Villacorte continues to shape young athletes as a trainer at the Davao Golden Twist Gymnastics Center and Manuel L. Quezon Elementary School. While he may not have brought home medals during his own Palarong Pambansa journey, he now hopes to fulfill that dream through the gymnasts he mentors today.

For Villacorte, success goes beyond medals and recognition. He believes that being true to oneself, honest, and kind not only makes a person a blessing to others but also opens the door to greater blessings in return. These are the values he continues to instill in every athlete he trains.
