The year 2017 brought us a lot of memories and events into mind, ones that have contributed greatly to the good vibes of our team. A good stroll through the memory lane seems appropriate on this occasion.
Let us start by being thankful to the members throughout the year. New additions to the family has let our group grow, not only as a team, but also as individuals. Each member, old and new, greatly contributed to the continuing development of the dynamics in the circle, both in and out of Jiu-jitsu.
During the year, two (2) seminars were conducted, one more serious than the other, but equally educating and fun. These seminars were events that fueled more our passion. None of us will ever forget these events. The teachings we have been blessed with will live on as we practice our gentle art in every session.
Promotions were granted to members who deserved them. Some received a stripe or two, and some received belts tainted with color. The idea of knowing that efforts have been seen and acknowledged is exhilerating and drove all of us to do better.
Some joined competitions. Bravery walked on to the mats. Despite the tight schedule in work and in school, we found time to drag ourselves to the mats to sweat and grind it out. Discipline manifested itself with every sweat flowing, every submissions done, every tap made, and every bulk shed to make weight. Also, the support of non-competitors can never be disregarded. Without them, none of our competitors would be able to achieve their goal during competition. These efforts were certainly not in vain. Medals were won, clearly showing the passion, heart, and love of the sport.
All these moments pushed us beyond our limits and reach the very best of ourselves. Now, as the year closes, we hope for more blessings to be showered upon us. Cheers to yet finer happenings that will surely come our way. Happy New Year! Thank you 2017! Hello 2018!
With great heart,
