🌊 Big Splash for Little Adi! 🌊

Our 4 year old champ Adi has successfully completed his Swimming Survival & Breathing Techniques training! 🐠👏

From learning how to stay calm in water, floating safely, controlling breathing, and basic survival skills Adi showed amazing confidence, focus, and courage at such a young age. Watching him grow stronger and more comfortable in the water has been truly inspiring 💪✨

This milestone isn’t just about swimming it’s about safety, confidence, and life skills. So proud of our little swimmer and excited for many more splashes ahead! 💦💙

Completion of 6 Days Swimming Training Program 🏊‍♀️

We are proud to announce the successful completion of our 6-day swimming training program, designed to build confidence in the water while strongly emphasizing safety, survival techniques, and CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation).
Throughout the program, participants were trained in essential swimming skills, water safety awareness, and practical survival techniques to effectively manage emergency situations. Participants learned vital lifesaving skills, including recognizing emergencies, performing chest compressions, and providing immediate care until professional medical help arrives.

The program focused on discipline, hands on learning, and real life scenarios, ensuring that every participant gained the confidence and knowledge needed to stay safe in and around water while also being prepared to help others in critical situations.

We sincerely appreciate the dedication and enthusiasm shown by all participants during these six days of intensive training. Special thanks to our instructors and support team for their commitment to delivering high quality swimming and lifesaving education.

🏊‍♀️ University of Mindanao Nursing Department – Swimming Lessons Begin! 🌊

November 09, Sunday marked the first day of swimming lessons for Batch 1, 2, and 3, with a total of 186 Nursing Students participating in this vital component of their physical education program.

These future healthcare professionals are diving into new skills that promote discipline, endurance, survival and teamwork qualities essential to the nursing profession.

Kudos to all students for their enthusiasm and commitment! We look forward to seeing your progress throughout this training. 💙

Successful Completion of 4-Day Swimming Lessons and Water Safety Training for BPE Students from the University of Mindanao

The Bachelor of Physical Education students from the University of Mindanao recently completed a 4-day Swimming and Water Safety Training held at Brokenshire Resort & Convention Center on June 22, 29, and July 6 and 13, 2025.

Throughout the program, students participated in practical swimming lessons and learned essential water safety skills. They were trained in various swimming strokes, water entry techniques, breathing methods, floating techniques, and other fundamental skills. The training aimed to equip them with the necessary knowledge and abilities to stay safe in aquatic environments and prevent drowning incidents—emphasizing the importance of swimming for personal safety, fitness, and skill development.

The UM Matina BPE students had an enjoyable and productive experience during the sessions, gaining both confidence and competence in the water.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the instructor who thoughtfully planned and facilitated the training, ensuring an engaging and meaningful learning experience. A special thanks as well to Professor Kate Mylicka Corbeta for her invaluable guidance and support in making this activity a success.
