Its been a year since the first bike lane was hastily painted on Davao City Roads by the CTTMO (along Quimpo Boulevard) by order of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, to augment the limitations of public transport brought about by the Covid pandemic. It was recognized that the establishment of Bike lanes had to be expedited to make active mobility such as bicycle use a safe option for travel especially by our work force, frontliners and essential workers, as key players in spurring our economy and industries back to normalcy

Biking naturally provides physical distancing that reduces exposure to the virus)

In deep appreciation for Bike Lanes we now have in Davao City, the best way to express our gratitude to our National and Local government agencies that supported and contributed to its realization is to be disciplined and responsible Bike Lane and Road users

Happy World Bicycle Day Ka_Vintage🚲

Ako 'ho ay nakikiisa sa buong mundo sa pagdiriwang ng WORLD BICYCLE DAY.

Bicycles are considered one of the smartest and most versatile urban transportation systems. Riding a bike serves as a viable option to observe health and safety measures.

Bukod sa maiiwasan ang hawaan ng COVID-19, makakatulong pa ito para manatiling malusog ang ating pangangatawan.

Kaya nga ba't ating hinihikayat ang paggamit ng bisikleta bilang isang Active Mode of Transport lalo pa’t mayroong tayong mga Metropolitan Bike Lane Networks na sinimulang itayo sa iba't-ibang panig ng bansa.

Naririnig at naiintindihan 'ho namin ang inyong pangangailangan kaya't patuloy naming isusulong na mabigyan kayo ng ligtas at maayos na espasyo sa kalsada.

Sa pakikipagtulungan natin sa Department of Public Works and Highways at iba pang ahensya ng gobyerno, malapit na nating makumpleto ang ating mga bike lanes sa Metro Cebu, Metro Davao at Metro Manila. Sisikapin po nating makumpleto ito bago magtapos ang taon.

Patuloy din 'ho ang aming panawagan na sundin ang mga basic etiquette, safety at courtesy habang nagbibisekleta na nakapaloob sa ating Bike Manual.

BIKE BOXES 🚲🟩🚲
now in Davao City

The GREEN BIKE BOX is a safety feature at an intersection to allow bicycle riders to be more visible to drivers. It is represented on the road by a white bicycle symbol and a green painted space positioned just before the pedestrian lane

Bicycle users are encouraged to stay ON this new safety feature, Green Bike Boxes while waiting on a red light to turn green. This helps cyclists get ahead of traffic for a synchronized turn while faster moving vehicles follow behind giving us time to be safe on the bikelanes before they pass

Bike boxes are currently available to serve your safety at the following challenging intersections

*Quimpo Ave (near Trust Hardware)
*G. E. Torres (formerly Sandawa Road).
*Puan Crossing

We hope to see cooperative Motorcycle and vehicle drivers on Davao roads as these are being redesigned to suit the safety needs of vulnerable road users such as those using Pedal assisted or human powered light vehicles such as bicycles and kick scooters
