A proud milestone for MMGKD and PMGKA. 🇯🇵🇵ðŸ‡
Rafael G. Ponce de Leon attended the 3-day IMGKA seminar and successfully passed his 3rd dan examination at the IMGKA Okinawa Hombu, marking another significant achievement in his continued pursuit of excellence in traditional Okinawan karate. He took the exam together with the Philippine Representative for IMGKA and Dojo Director of Shishi Karate Kobudo Dojo, Meneleo De Mesa, Sensei who also passed his 6th Dan examination which made the ocassion more special.
He also earned the Bronze Medal in the Black Belt Division at the 2026 IMGKA World Karate Tournament, demonstrating dedication, discipline, and perseverance while competing against skilled martial artists from around the world.
In addition, Rafael had the honor of attending the commemoration of Meitatsu Sensei and the 3rd Soke, Akihito Yagi—an occasion that celebrated the legacy, traditions, and spirit of Okinawan karate, a history in IMGKA.
These accomplishments reflect MMGKD's commitment to preserving the values of the art while continuing to grow as a martial artist. 🥋
