Danny Green still hasn’t forgotten what it was like facing Jimmy Butler in the 2020 NBA Finals.
“Nobody could stop him. He killed us. He killed everybody.”
Despite entering the series as heavy underdogs and dealing with injuries to key teammates, Butler refused to back down against the Lakers. He pushed the eventual champions to six games, averaging 26.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 9.8 assists while delivering legendary 40-point and 35-point triple-doubles against LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
Years later, members of that championship Lakers squad still remember the challenge of trying to contain Butler during one of the most memorable Finals performances in Miami Heat history.
