That is an incredible sighting! Monad Shoal near Malapascua Island is legendary for its thresher sharks, but seeing a Tiger Shark there is a truly special (and slightly more rare) experience for divers.
​Tiger sharks are easily identifiable by their broad, blunt snouts and the dark, vertical stripes on their sides—though these stripes often fade as the shark matures.
​Tiger Shark Fast Facts
​Size: They can grow up to 4.5 to 5.5 meters long, making them one of the largest predatory sharks in the ocean.
​Diet: Known as the "wastebaskets of the ocean," they eat almost anything—fish, seals, birds, turtles, and even inanimate objects like tires or license plates.
