🎤🤲🙏😍🥰
Yesterday, we were blessed to welcome a walk-in player. She came hoping there might still be an available slot, and Alhamdulillah, one confirmed participant was unable to attend, so we happily welcomed her.
Meet Ma’am Umie—a kind, humble, and respectful lady. She warmly called almost everyone “anak” and shared that she simply wanted to exercise and enjoy the game.
What inspired us even more was that she played while wearing her niqab. She moved confidently around the court, played with enthusiasm, and enjoyed every rally while remaining comfortable and true to herself. MashaAllah, her determination and modesty earned everyone’s admiration.
As Muslims, including our sisters who wear the niqab, we can enjoy sports like pickleball while observing our personal and religious boundaries. Ma’am Umie is a beautiful example that modesty and sports can go hand in hand.
At Earthquake Pickleball Club, we respect every player’s beliefs, values, culture, and personal choices. We believe pickleball is for everyone—regardless of age, background, skill level, or attire—so long as we all play with respect, sportsmanship, and consideration for one another.
Thank you, Ma’am Umie, for reminding us that strength is not only shown through skill, but also through humility, kindness, and faith. We look forward to seeing you again on the court.
Together, we rise after every challenge. Together, we play. Together, we grow.
