Successfully conducted the Farmer-Scientists Training Program (FSTP) Refresher Course Training for the Farmer-Scientists of Madalag, Aklan on May 19โ€“21, 2026 at ATI-RTC VI, ASU Compound, Banga, Aklan.

A total of 15 Farmer-Scientists (FSs), together with Municipal Agriculture staff Ms. Ilyn N. Narral and Ms. Crislyn D. Ibisate, actively participated in the three-day training facilitated by ATI-RTC VI through Mr. John Flor Emmanuel V. Salmorin, Corn Focal, and Mr. Michael Angelo R. Renting, TSS. The FSTP team from ASI-CAFS, UPLB composed of Mr. Anuada, Ms. Velasco, Mr. Caindoy, and Mr. Bungar served as resource persons.

Also present during the opening program was Ms. Gay Dianala, Assistant Center Director, ATI-RTC VI, while Center Director Mary Ann Ramos, ATI-RTC VI attended the closing program.

The training covered various topics on Corn-based production technologies, including lectures and hands-on demonstrations on soil analysis using the Soil Test Kit (STK) and fertilizer computation.

The activity aimed to enhance the knowledge and technical capabilities of the Farmer-Scientists in promoting sustainable and productive corn farming practices in their respective communities in preparation for FSTP Phase III, where they will serve as Farmer-Scientist Teachers.

The Farmer Scientist Training Program (FSTP) Training of Trainers was successfully conducted on April 27โ€“29, 2026, at Agricultural Training Institute โ€“ Regional Training Center XIII, Los Angeles, Butuan City. There were 25 participants attended from the provinces of Agusan del Sur, Agusan del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Dinagat Islands, Department of Science and Technology-Caraga ( DOST-Caraga), and Agusan del Sur State University (SUC).

Through the support of partner-agencies, the FSTP continues to serve with research-driven innovations to the grassroots level. The activity consisted with lectures, workshops, and field demonstrations.

We would like to thank the Agricultural Training Institute โ€“ Regional Training Center XIII (ATI-RTC XIII) for its continued support for the program, headed by Naome Beth Macario. We are also grateful to the partner agencies that participated in this event.

๐ŸŽ“๐ŸŒพ Congratulations to the Farmer-Scientist graduates of FSTP Phase II in Abucay, Bataan! ๐Ÿ’š

Last May 8, 2026, the FSTP team, together with ATI-RTC III, the Abucay Municipal Agriculture Office, local officials, and partner agencies, celebrated the successful completion of Phase II training of the municipalityโ€™s farmer-scientists. The graduation recognized their dedication, hard work, and commitment to learning science-based and sustainable agricultural practices.

The graduates also shared their gratitude and experiences throughout the training, highlighting the valuable knowledge, skills, and confidence they gained from the program. As they continue their journey as farmer-scientists, may they continue to inspire and empower fellow farmers in their communities. ๐ŸŒฑ

๐ŸŒพ Empowering Farmers Through Learning! ๐ŸŒฑ

The FSTP team successfully conducted the Refresher Course Training for the implementation of FSTP Phase III in Abucay, Bataan last May 6โ€“8, 2026, with the participation of 17 farmer-scientists from the municipality.

Also present during the activity were the staff from ATI-RTC III and Abucay Municipal Agriculture Office. Municipal Mayor Erik Martel likewise expressed his support for the participants and encouraged them to share their learnings with fellow farmers in the community.

Through continuous collaboration among partner agencies and local government units, FSTP continues to empower farmers through science-based agriculture, leadership, and community extension. ๐Ÿ’š

From learners to future mentors, soon, they will share their knowledge and experiences with their fellow farmers as they move on to Phase 3 of the FSTP.

More than a celebration of achievement, this marks the beginning of a greater role. As they step into Phase III, the graduates will become farmer-scientist teachers, sharing knowledge, and best practices with their fellow farmers in their communities.

FARMERS ARE THE SILENT HEROES

A total of fourteen (14) farmer participants from Famy, Laguna successfully completed the recently concluded Farmer-Scientist Training Program (FSTP) Refresher Course Training last April 21-23, 2026. This activity strengthened their knowledge and skills in corn production that will prepare them not only to continually improve their own practices but also to become effective farmer-scientists and teachers in their community.

Through small group discussions and practice teaching, participants were equipped as preparation for Phase III implementation, where they will share their learnings with fellow farmers. Hands-on activities such as Soil Test Kit (STK) demonstration, fertilizer computation, and lecture on the introduction to biofertilizers were also included in the training.

This training was made possible through the collaborative efforts of ATICalabarzon, the FSTP-UPLB Team of UPLB Agricultural Systems Institute, and the Famy Municipal Agriculture Office.
