Greetings!
First and foremost, I give my deepest thanks to God for blessing me with the talent, passion, and opportunity to grow in the field of dance and cultural education. I am truly honored and grateful to be part of the 44th National Folk Dance Workshop held on May 17–23, 2026 at the Iloilo Sports Complex Covered Gym, Iloilo City.
As a Dance Troupe Moderator, this experience is a meaningful opportunity to deepen my knowledge, skills, and appreciation of Philippine folk dances and our rich cultural heritage. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to our school administration for approving and supporting my participation in this prestigious workshop. Your trust and encouragement continue to inspire me to grow not only as a dancer, but also as a teacher and moderator committed to preserving Filipino culture through dance.
My heartfelt thanks as well to the organizers — Samahang Tagapagtaguyod ng Katutubong Sayaw ng Pilipinas (STKSP), the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), and all partner institutions — for making this inspiring cultural journey possible.
This workshop will greatly help me and my co-MAPEH teachers in promoting Philippine folk dances, developing talented dancers, and inspiring students to value and preserve our traditions. The learnings, techniques, and experiences I will gain will serve as additional knowledge and training that I can apply in teaching, choreography, performances, and student development.
With this opportunity and training, I become even more equipped and eligible to teach, share, and promote Philippine folk dances with excellence, passion, and pride.
Thank you very much to everyone who supported, trusted, and encouraged me throughout this journey. Your support truly means a lot. Mabuhay ang sayaw Pilipino!
That in All Things God May be Glorified.
Yours truly,
Mr. Francis A. Matahum
