SANGI BASKETBALL
RULES AND GUIDELINES
ELIGIBILITY:
• Must be a resident of Sitio Sangi.
• No age limit.
• Any protests should be raised on the date of screening.
• All decisions by the game POC are final.
1. It is the team representative's responsibility to make sure their players aware of the rules governing the tournament/event.
2. A team must have 15 players, where all players will have the opportunity to play every scheduled game.
3. A team must have a minimum of five (5) players to start the game. Upon entering the 2nd half, the team must have at least (8) players to avoid a forfeit.
4. A ten-minute grace period will be given to teams with fewer than 5 players or teams arriving late.
5. Teams must be present fifteen (15) minutes prior to their scheduled game time. (This is to prevent unnecessary injuries)
6. 4 quarters with 10 minutes each quarter (running time except the the last 5 minutes of the 4th quarter).
7. Teams are permitted one 1-minute time out per quarter for the 1st 3 quarters, two 1-minute time outs on the 4th quarter and one 1 time out for the overtime period(s) (no carry over of time outs).
8. Any player or coaches ejected from a game should leave the team bench area, failure to do so will result in the termination of the game.
9. The tournament/event will be played under FIBA rules.
10. Over time period - maximum of 1 overtime game as necessary for the elimination games and a toss coin on the 2nd overtime as necessary. For the semi-finals and finals, 2 overtime games as necessary and a toss coin on the 3rd overtime as necessary. Game clock will be on running time except for the last 2 minutes.
11. Team foul penalty. Bonus free throws will be awarded on the fifth (5th) team foul. During the last 2 minutes of the 4th quarter, 2 team foul will result to bonus free throws if the team has not yet reached 5 team fouls.
12. All players are expected to always exhibit proper sportsmanship behavior. Unsportsmanlike conduct such as "trash talking", gesturing, taunting etc. is strictly forbidden and could result in automatic ejection.
13. Fighting, swearing or other unsportsmanlike conduct towards opponents, teammates, coaches, referees or spectators is strictly forbidden and could result in automatic ejection from the tournament/event.
14. Strictly no bench clearing. Only players in the playing court are allowed to play peacemakers.
15. Player/Coach that will be ejected, will automatically merit a one (1) game suspension, in effect on the next game schedule of the team. Two (accumulated) ejections will merit a two (2) game suspension, in effect on the next game schedules. Three (3) or more ejections will be banned from playing in the tournament/event.
16. Sangi Basketball League must always be adhered to which is to provide its participants a positive recreational experience incorporating a high spirit of sportsmanship, fair play and mutual respect between players.
17. Barangayan Rule.
• Change of 5 players every quarter.
• There will be no substitutions during this time.
• All players should have been fielded in.
• Lacking players, the opposing team chose players who will play in the 3rd quarter, plus 2 points for every player based on 12 players.
• 4TH quarter will be open substitution 4 position for 39 below and 1 position for 40 up.
18. FIBA rules will apply for tie breakers on team standings.
19. The registration fee of ₱700 must be fully paid by the given deadline. Players who aren't fully paid by the deadline will be disqualified from the league.
20. Teams that haven't completed their game fee will be forfeited.
