Official Public Page of Cebu Institute of Medicine - Alpha Mu Sigma Phi. In 1959, a dream was realized... a strong foundation laid.

A group of strong willed medical students, together with a vision, brought into existence Alpha Mu Sigma Phi fraternity and Sigma Alpha Mu Sigma sorority. Although two separate entities, they were bound together with the same idealism. They worked hand in hand, humbly leading and performing effectively for the organization and for others. In 1972, Martial Law was declared. All organizations including fraternities and sororities were dissolved. With a heavy heart, Alpha Mu Sigma Phi and Sigma Alpha Mu Sigma temporarily disbanded. Thus in 1991, out from the darkness, came the rebirth of the two most prided organizations in CIM. But this time, Alpha Mu Sigma Phi and Sigma Alpha Mu Sigma merged into an even greater society - Alpha Mu Sigma Phi Organization. Through the years, Alpha Mu Sigma Phi has always been true to its mission statement. Encouraging academic excellence among its student members and involving the spirit of service among its noble physicians, the Alpha Mu Sigma Phi has made its mark within the medical community. And yet, in another light it has never forgotten to foster friendship and camaraderie among its members and other organizations. Sixty three years have passed and still the Alpha Mu still stands tall, boasting of members composed of remarkable medical students and physicians. The call to serve does not end where walls begin. Through Service Beyond Walls, CIM – Alpha Mu Sigma Phi spearheaded a medical mission dedicated to extending healthcare, compassion, and dignity to those who are often overlooked.

In partnership with Alpha Kappa Rho – Cebu Grand Council, UC – School of Medicine Alpha Chi Sigma, CDU – College of Medicine Community Outreach, Resource, and Education - CORE, and CDU Dentistry, we managed to serve 𝟕𝟎𝟓 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐲 (𝐏𝐃𝐋𝐬), providing 𝟐𝟒𝟗 medical consultations, 𝟔𝟔 surgical services, 𝟏𝟎𝟒 dental services, and 𝟐𝟖𝟔 optical services.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partner institutions, dedicated volunteers, and everyone who helped make this initiative possible. We are also grateful to our Alphan brothers, Dr. Alex T. Junia (AMΣΦ ‘93), Dr. Andrew L. Corrompido (AMΣΦ ‘98), Dr. Erwin E. Cempron (AMΣΦ ‘13), Dr. Leslie Ryan T. Go (AMΣΦ ‘16), and Dr. Huey Anderson C. Lim (AMΣΦ ‘24), for generously sharing their time, expertise, and skills in service of this mission.

In our continued pursuit of service, Alpha Mu Sigma Phi, in partnership with the 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐏𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐈𝐧𝐜., and 𝐊𝐚𝐩𝐰𝐚 𝐊𝐨, 𝐌𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐥 𝐊𝐨 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, participated in a medical mission at Cebu Safari and Adventure Park last 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔. Through this initiative, we provided free 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥, 𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥, 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬, to patients from nearby barangays. 🩺

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Alphan Sister, Dr. Vivina Chiu-Yrastorza (AMSP ’66), for giving us this opportunity to take part in such a meaningful initiative. We also thank our Alphan Sister, Dr. Cybelle E. In another opportunity to serve the elderly and sick, Alpha Mu Sigma Phi conducted 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗚𝗮𝘀𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗚𝘂𝗴𝗺𝗮, in partnership with the Missionaries of Charity. Through the distribution of blankets, incontinence pads, and financial assistance, along with a short program filled with games, laughter, and meaningful interaction, we hoped to bring comfort and remind the residents that they are remembered and cared for.

Our heartfelt thanks to our generous sponsors for their support in making this outreach possible. We also extend our appreciation to our Alphan brother, Fr. Dr. Florge Michael Z. Sy (ΑΜΣΦ ‘91), whose presence, guidance, and support strengthened the spirit of brotherhood behind this endeavor.
