To continue the momentum of sustainable fisheries for resilience in Camotes Island, a Marine Protected Area Local Monitoring Team was created and organized. And as a part of their capacity building, members of the local monitoring team including Mayor Manuel Santiago of Pilar recently underwent Open Water SCUBA Certification training in Poro last March 4-6, 2020. The main goal for this to capacitate and prepare themselves for the next phase which is the training of trainers on MPA and Managed Access Area monitoring.
