In 1932, a group of Eskrimador Masters came together to unite and share their knowledge in the Art and later call themselves as Doce Pares. DOCE PARES
Founded in 1932 with founding President GM Eulogio Cañete, the first and longest serving President of Doce Pares; it is oldest and largest Filipino Martial Art System and Organization in the World and considered as the most complete and well rounded fighting system as it covers all ranges of fighting and 12 different styles of combat. Cañete, a legend icon and authority in Filipino Martial Art; Doce Pares has spread all over the World with over 50 member Countries. Together with his son Master Gerald O. Cañete, who has conducted numerous successful events to promote the Filipino Art including running the Arnis Games during the 30th SEA Games ; continues to spread and promote the legacy of Doce Pares as the Gold Standard of FMA.

Doce Pares HQ Officially Announces the Appointment of Grandmaster Michael Korthals as Executive Director for Germany.

On a Special meeting held on May 2, 2026 at the Doce Pares HQ in Cebu City, Philippines, the appointment of GM Korthals and the creation of the position of Executive Director for Germany was approved by the Senior and Executive leadership of Doce Pares.

Doce Pares family mourns the loss of one of our respected Grandmasters, Grandmaster Robert Garcia of Doce Pares Hawaii.

GM Robert was one of the pillars in building, strengthening, and promoting Doce Pares in Hawaii. A true mentor and brother, he dedicated his life to preserving and spreading the legacy of Filipino Martial Arts through his passion, humility, honor, and unwavering loyalty to Doce Pares. His teachings and influence will forever live on in every student he guided and every life he touched across generations.

Though we deeply mourn his passing, we also celebrate a life devoted to service, brotherhood, and the advancement of our art. His legacy will continue to inspire future generations of Doce Pares practitioners around the world.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, loved ones, students, and the entire Doce Pares Hawaii community during this difficult time.

Rest in peace, GM Robert.

Thank you for your lifelong dedication, wisdom, and invaluable contributions to Doce Pares. You will never be forgotten.

Today, we celebrate and commemorate the Heavenly Birthday of our beloved Supreme Grand Master, Dionisio “Diony” A. Cañete. 🕊

We remember his unwavering dedication, passion, and deep love for Eskrima. Through his knowledge and teachings, he shaped not only the art but also the lives of countless individuals. His influence continues to guide us not only as practitioners, but as Eskrimadors.

His exemplary leadership of Doce Pares and WEKAF was marked by compassion, humility, and genuine kindness. His selflessness was evident in the many lives he help uplifted and transformed—giving freely and expecting nothing in return. He embodied true leadership and loyalty, standing firm in his commitment to his students and the organization he nurtured.

While in his absence in this world may test memory and loyalty, and some may choose to forget or even dishonor and show disloyalty to his name and Legacy, we remain steadfast in upholding the truth and loyalty to his Legacy.

Today, and always, we honor his life by continuing to follow his teachings, uphold his values, and protect the Legacy he built.
