NCR’s NO. 4 MOST WANTED PERSON COLLARED IN QUEZON CITY OVER SEXUAL ASSAULT, STATUTORY R**E

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested a high-value wanted person in Quezon City on September 1, 2026, strengthening efforts to locate individuals facing serious criminal charges and bring them before the proper judicial authorities.

Operatives of the Quezon City Police District–Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (QCPD-CIDU), in coordination with the Quezon City District Intelligence and Tactical Unit (QCDIT) and Regional Intelligence Unit-NCR (RIU-NCR), apprehended a 31-year-old male in Barangay Kamuning, Quezon City. He was identified as the No. 4 Most Wanted Person at the regional level and No. 2 Most Wanted Person at the district level.

The arrest stemmed from intelligence information provided by QCDIT and RIU-NCR, which led police operatives to the suspect’s location. He was apprehended by virtue of a warrant of arrest for Sexual Assault under Article 266-A (2) of the Revised Penal Code and Statutory R**e under Article 266-A, Paragraph 1(D), as amended by Republic Acts Nos. 8353 and 11648. The Sexual Assault charge is bailable, while no bail was recommended for the Statutory R**e charge.

Following his arrest, the suspect was brought to the concerned police unit for documentation and proper processing. The warrant of arrest will be returned to the court of origin for appropriate action.

“Wanted persons facing serious criminal charges must be brought before the courts to answer for the allegations against them. We will sustain intelligence-driven efforts to locate and apprehend those sought by the law,” PGen Nartatez said.

PNP, PARTNER AGENCIES ARREST 5 SUSPECTS, SEIZE NEARLY 95 KILOS OF DRUGS WITH P144.7-M SDP IN ONE-DAY OPS

Nearly 95 kilograms of suspected illegal drugs with a combined Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P144.765 million were seized in separate operations conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) and its partner agencies in Metro Manila, Western Visayas, and CALABARZON on September 1, 2026.

The biggest seizure was recorded at the Customs Secondary Inspection Area of the Customs International Arrival Area, Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 in Pasay City, where authorities recovered a combined 94.561 kilograms of suspected Ma*****na Kush with an SDP of P141.841 million.

The shipment was initially flagged during X-ray inspection after presenting a suspicious image. A subsequent K-9 screening indicated the possible presence of illegal drugs, leading to a manual inspection and the recovery of the suspected contraband. The seized items were turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Laboratory Service for proper documentation and disposition.

In Western Visayas, a buy-bust operation in Estancia, Iloilo resulted in the arrest of four individuals and the recovery of approximately 230 grams of suspected shabu, with an SDP of P1.564 million. Meanwhile, a separate operation in Batangas City led to the arrest of a 31-year-old male and the recovery of approximately 200 grams of suspected shabu, with an SDP of P1.36 million.

Chief PNP Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. underscored the importance of sustained coordination and vigilance in keeping illegal drugs from reaching communities.

P21.5-M SMUGGLED CI******ES SEIZED, 7 ARRESTED IN MINDANAO OPS

The Philippine National Police (PNP) strengthened its enforcement efforts against the movement of smuggled goods after separate operations in Mindanao led to the recovery of more than P21.5 million worth of smuggled ci******es and the arrest of seven individuals from September 1 to the early hours of September 2.

In Parang, Maguindanao del Norte, police personnel intercepted a vehicle at a checkpoint at around 11:40 AM on September 1, resulting in the recovery of 250 master cases of smuggled ci******es with an estimated market value of P14 million. Two Filipino men, aged 39 and 32, were arrested in the operation.

Later that day, police in Iligan City conducted a checkpoint operation that resulted in the recovery of 2,082 reams of smuggled ci******es valued at approximately P1.67 million. Four Filipino men, aged 20 to 37, were arrested, while two vans believed to have been used to transport the shipment were secured.

In a separate operation in Opol, Misamis Oriental, at around 2:00 AM on September 2, police intercepted a 28-year-old Filipino man and recovered 117 master cases of smuggled ci******es worth approximately P5.85 million.

The seized cigarette products were turned over to the Bureau of Customs (BOC) for proper documentation, safekeeping, and disposition. The persons arrested were subjected to appropriate procedures pending the outcome of the proceedings.

PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the operations demonstrate the value of sustained police presence and close coordination with partner agencies in addressing the movement of illicit goods.

“Hindi lang ito tungkol sa mga nakumpiskang produkto. It is about making sure that illegal shipments do not find an easy path into our communities and markets. PNP MOURNS FALLEN BROTHER IN UNIFORM, HONORS HIS SERVICE AND SACRIFICE

The Philippine National Police (PNP) mourns the passing of Police Staff Sergeant Von Rico Binaño Macuha, 32, who sustained a gunshot wound while performing police duties during a follow-up operation in Batangas on August 30, 2026.

PSSg Macuha was part of a team from the Sta. Teresita Municipal Police Station conducting a follow-up operation in Barangay Sampaga, Balayan, Batangas, in connection with a previously foiled robbery incident. At around 4:29 p.m., an exchange of gunfire reportedly took place in the vicinity of the Calaca River, during which PSSg Macuha sustained a gunshot wound to the head.

He was promptly brought to a medical facility for emergency treatment but later passed away from his injuries.

Police units from Balayan, Calaca, and Sta. Teresita immediately coordinated follow-up operations to locate the suspect identified in the initial report in connection with the incident.

On August 31, personnel of the Nasugbu Municipal Police Station and the 2nd Batangas Provincial Mobile Force Company located the 27-year-old male suspect in Sitio Calo, Barangay Kaylaway, Nasugbu, Batangas. According to the initial report, an armed encounter occurred during the ensuing police operation, during which the suspect sustained a gunshot wound.

The suspect was subsequently apprehended and brought to a medical facility for appropriate medical attention but was later pronounced dead. A motorcycle and a caliber .38 firearm were also recovered during the operation. The circumstances surrounding the incident and the suspect’s death remain subject to appropriate investigation.

Chief, PNP Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. conveyed his condolences to the family, colleagues, and loved ones of PSSg Macuha, recognizing the commitment he demonstrated in carrying out his responsibility as a police officer.

“Losing one of our own is never easy, especially for the family who is waiting for him to come home. PSSg Macuha was doing his duty when this happened. We will remember his service, support his family, and make sure that his sacrifice continues to mean something to the communities we serve,” Police General Nartatez said.

CTG WAR MATERIALS RECOVERED; GUNS, AMMUNITION AND RIFLE GRENADES UNEARTHED IN CAGAYAN

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., has strengthened security efforts in Cagayan following the recovery of fi****ms, ammunition, rifle gr***des, communication equipment, and other war materials believed to be owned by the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) during an operation in the mountainous portion of Barangay Niug Norte, Sto. Niño, Cagayan on August 31, 2026.

Leading the operation was the 202nd Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 2, with support from the 4th Maneuver Platoon of the 1st Cagayan Provincial Mobile Force Company, Regional Intelligence Unit 2, Sto. Niño Police Station, and Bravo Company, 17th Infantry Battalion, 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army.

Operating personnel discovered the cache at Sitio Talor, where the war materials had been buried underground and concealed inside a black plastic bag. Recovered were two homemade 12-gauge shotguns, 85 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, 32 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, four rifle gr***des with canisters, four rounds of 7.62x33mm carbine ammunition, three rounds of 12-gauge ammunition, and magazines for 5.56mm and 7.62mm fi****ms.

Also recovered were two handheld radios, a black skeleton bandolier, a brown tactical belt, an improvised engine-generator set, a Samsung 10,000mAh power bank, chargers and electrical wires, a tickler containing subversive documents, an earphone, batteries, and a cellphone charger.

The location of the cache was identified through information provided by a surrendered CTG member using the alias “Ronron.” The information was subjected to validation by operating personnel before the recovery operation was carried out.

The recovered rifle gr***des and other explosive items will be turned over to the Regional EOD and Canine Unit 2 for appropriate handling, while the two homemade shotguns will be submitted to the Regional Forensic Unit 2 for examination. The remaining items were brought to the 202nd MC, RMFB2 for final inventory and proper disposition.

The recovery highlights the value of intelligence-driven police operations and the close partnership between the PNP and the Philippine Army in preventing armed groups from regaining access to fi****ms, ammunition, and other operational resources.

BIG-TIME CTG SETBACK: REBEL MEMBER SURRENDERS, GUN TURNED OVER IN BUKIDNON

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., secured another significant gain in its efforts to encourage members of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) to abandon armed activities, following the voluntary surrender of a CTG member in San Fernando, Bukidnon on August 26, 2026.

Personnel of the 1st Special Action Battalion (1SAB), Special Action Force (SAF), provided tactical support to the 1003rd Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 10, and other PNP units during the facilitation of the surrender of a.k.a. Math/Saudi, a Periodic Status Report (PSR)-listed CTG member under Squad 2, Platoon Pulang Baganing Yunit of the dismantled Guerilla Front 89, Sub-Regional Committee, in Barangay Halapitan.

Upon surrender, the former CTG member turned over one improvised 5.56mm revolver loaded with four rounds of ammunition. He is now undergoing documentation and processing for possible enrollment in the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), which provides returning CTG members an opportunity to rebuild their lives through lawful means.

“This surrender demonstrates that peaceful and lawful options remain open to those who choose to leave armed conflict behind. We will sustain our efforts to facilitate their safe return while ensuring that public safety and the rule of law remain firmly upheld,” PGEN Nartatez said.

PNP CYBER PATROL LEADS TO ARREST, SEIZURE OF 400 REGISTERED SIM CARDS IN BULACAN

A proactive cyber patrol operation by the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP ACG) led to the arrest of a 26-year-old man and the recovery of 400 registered Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) cards allegedly being offered for sale online in Obando, Bulacan.

The operation was conducted by the Bulacan Provincial Cyber Response Team on August 24, 2026, following the monitoring of online activities involving the sale of registered SIM cards and other accounts through social media platforms. The suspect, identified only as alias “Junel,” was arrested during an entrapment operation after allegedly offering registered SIM cards for sale online.

The recovered SIM cards will undergo appropriate examination and further investigation to determine their source, registration details, and possible links to other unlawful activities. The suspect is facing charges for alleged violation of Republic Act No. 11934, or the SIM Registration Act of 2022, in relation to Republic Act No. 10175, or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012. He remains under police custody following inquest proceedings.

THREE ARRESTED IN ZAMBALES FOR ALLEGED ILLEGAL PETROLEUM TRADE; ₱2.6-M PRODUCTS SEIZED

The Philippine National Police (PNP) seized more than 33,000 liters of petroleum products valued at approximately ₱2.61 million and arrested three individuals during an enforcement operation in Masinloc, Zambales on August 31.

The operation was conducted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Zambales Provincial Field Unit, in coordination with the Masinloc Municipal Police Station and Provincial Intelligence Team, following verification of the regulatory status of a petroleum retail establishment in Barangay Inhobol.

Arrested were three Filipino individuals: a 21-year-old gasoline attendant, a 19-year-old gasoline attendant, and a 33-year-old gas station manager. They were apprehended during a test-buy operation conducted by police personnel.

Confiscated during the operation were 10,437 liters of diesel, 14,312 liters of unleaded gasoline, and 8,500 liters of premium gasoline, with a combined estimated market value of ₱2,608,264.60. Police also secured transaction and business records and documents relevant to the establishment’s regulatory status.

Prior verification with the Department of Energy indicated that the establishment had no valid Certificate of Compliance and no authority to operate or sell or distribute petroleum products. The appropriate complaint for alleged violation of Batas Pambansa Blg. 33, as amended, is being prepared for inquest proceedings.

FIREARM REPORT LEADS PNP TO 5 SUSPECTED ACETYLENE GANG MEMBERS

Five men allegedly linked to the so-called “Acetylene Gang” were arrested after police responding to information about a man reportedly carrying a firearm in General Trias City, Cavite, discovered a cache of weapons, suspected ma*****na, a hand gr***de, and equipment believed to be used in forcibly opening secured containers.

The suspects, aged 33 to 57, were intercepted late evening of August 29 along CM Delos Reyes Avenue, Barangay Biclatan. What initially began as a police response to a report involving a person allegedly armed in the area led to the discovery of other items inside the vehicle where the suspects were found.

Police recovered a 9mm pistol with ammunition from one of the suspects, as well as a .38 revolver, a 12-gauge shotgun, additional ammunition, a hand gr***de, and around 9.77 grams of suspected ma*****na. Acetylene equipment and other paraphernalia allegedly used to forcibly open vaults and other secured containers were also recovered.

Initial investigation indicated that the five men may be connected to the so-called “Acetylene Gang,” which is being linked to robbery incidents in different parts of Luzon and the Visayas. Their identities, backgrounds, and possible involvement in specific incidents remain subject to verification and further investigation.

Chief PNP Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the development highlights how alert police response to seemingly isolated reports can uncover wider security concerns.

“Sometimes, what looks like an ordinary report is actually a piece of a bigger picture. Kaya mahalaga ang mabilis na response, tamang validation, at maayos na coordination. We cannot afford to ignore details that may help us prevent a bigger problem,” PGen Nartatez said.

The recovered fi****ms and ammunition will undergo ballistic examination, while the suspected ma*****na will be subjected to chemical analysis. The recovered hand gr***de will likewise be handled by the appropriate explosives unit for proper disposition.

₱14.28M SHABU SUPPLY BUSTED IN MANILA; DRUG TRAFFICKER ARRESTED

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., scored a major breakthrough against the illegal drug trade following the arrest of a high-value individual (HVI) in a buy-bust operation in Ermita, Manila, on August 31, 2026.

The NCRPO, through the Manila Police District Drug Enforcement Unit (MPD-DEU), arrested the 33-year-old male suspect along Maria Orosa Street, Barangay 666, Zone 72, recovering 2,100 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price of ₱14,280,000.00.

The seized drugs were packed in two small and two large heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets. Police also recovered the marked money used in the entrapment, boodle money, and the suspect’s personal belongings.

The arrested suspect remains under MPD-DEU custody and is facing complaints for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

PGEN Nartatez underscored the importance of the operation in disrupting the movement of illegal drugs in the capital. “This operation demonstrates how intelligence-driven police work can intercept significant drug transactions before they reach their intended destination. We will use every available lead to pursue the wider network behind these activities.”
