1ST FIDE-RATED OPEN CHESS TOURNAMENT - OFFICIALLY CONCLUDED!

Rain or shine, tuloy ang laro!

Seeing everyone show up, play, and support the event despite the rain made this tournament even more special.

From the first round hanggang sa last game, we saw exciting matches, intense battles, and most importantly, the love and passion everyone has for chess. Sobrang saya at nakakaproud makita ang chess community na magsama-sama in one event.

Congratulations to Myssha Jean Villanueva for representing Calauan Chess Society at the PSC-NCFP Selection National Chess Championship – Elimination (Men and Women), Luzon Leg, held at the Sports Complex, Sta. Cruz, Laguna!

Your hard work, discipline, and love for the game truly paid off. Napakalaking bagay 'to hindi lang para sa'yo, kundi para din sa buong Calauan Chess Society. Patuloy lang sa pag-angat!

Another great day at the Calauan Chess Society training grounds! We welcomed 4 new players today, and as always, our passion for teaching never runs out.

Kuya Jake and Anthony walked our newest members through the basics of tactics — just the first step, but already full of determination! Meanwhile, Sir Jerome shared key chess fundamentals with the rest of the group, building the strong foundation every aspiring player needs.

We capped off the session with some friendly games — no training day is complete without a match!

Welcome to the CCS family, new members! Keep pushing forward, and by the next training session, your game will be even stronger.

📣 ANNOUNCEMENT ‼️ POSTPONEMENT OF THE 1ST FIDE RATED OPEN CHESS TOURNAMENT

Dear Players, Parents, and Chess Community,

Due to the bad weather condition forecasted for tomorrow, the safety and well-being of all participants, arbiters, and organizers remain our top priority.

With this, we regret to inform you that the 1st FIDE Rated Open Chess Tournament of Calauan Chess Society scheduled for tomorrow will be postponed.

New Schedule: August 30, 2026

All other tournament details, including venue and time will remain the same. Further updates will be announced soon.

With heavy hearts, the Calauan Chess Society mourns the passing of our fellow player, Alexis, who recently left us due to a tragic accident.

Alexis was part of our growing chess community here in Calauan sharing the board, the games, and the friendships that come with it. Kahit maikli man ang panahon, hindi maikakaila ang naging bahagi niya sa aming mga laro at sa CCS family.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Alexis. Your presence at the board will be missed. 🌷😢🥺🙏
