Watching the replay, I realized I was completely airborne before landing headfirst on the ground. The impact was hard, and for a minute, I couldnβt even get back up.
But my parents told me something that surprised me: this was one of the best races Iβve ever had.
At first, it didnβt make sense. Before the crash, I was running in 3rd place. After it happened, I dropped two spots and ended up at the back of the pack.
Yet they said they were proud of me - not because of where I finished, but because I chose to finish at all, even I know that Iβll be finishing last.
My parents told me that there was no one to blame. Not my friends who were racing alongside me. Not myself for being slow to process what had happened.
Looking back at this race, I was reminded of something greater: God was with me the whole time. Through the crash, the fear, and the disappointment, His protection never left me.
Sometimes the greatest victories arenβt found on the podium. Sometimes theyβre found in getting back up, crossing the finish line, and realizing you were never alone in the first place. π€
Thank you Lord for your protection and grace!
