What happened in Zamboanga is heartbreaking, and my prayers are with the families of the students, teachers, guards, and everyone affected.

To men in uniform and families who own fi****ms: please secure your fi****ms responsibly. Keep them locked, inaccessible to minors, and accessible only to those who are properly authorized and trained to handle them.

Being a licensed or registered firearm owner is only part of the responsibility. The responsibility continues every day in how we store, secure, and control access to that firearm.

The violence we are seeing among some of our young people cannot simply be blamed on video games. Many generations have played "violent" games, yet it is only recently that we have been witnessing disturbing incidents increasingly involving younger people. We need to look deeper into the factors behind this, including bullying, mental and emotional struggles, family dynamics, social influences, access to weapons, and the values we are teaching our children.

And as parents, guardians, teachers, and communities, may we not stop at asking “What happened?” May we also ask, “What can we do differently?”

Let us pray for parents to have the wisdom, patience, and courage to guide their children toward kindness, respect, accountability, and a relationship with God.

And let us keep praying for our children to be surrounded by people and influences that remind them of who they are in Christ, so that bullying, rejection, or the opinions of others will never define their worth.

Lord, protect our children. Give our parents wisdom. Bring healing to the families who are grieving. And help us build communities where our young people know that they are seen, valued, loved, and never alone. 🙏

Monday na naman. 😅 Hindi kailangan 100% motivated, basta bumangon, magkape, at simulan ang kailangan gawin. Small progress is still progress. Kaya natin ’to! ☕💪

Wait... it's July already?! 🙃📅

Real talk sa ta: I just realized the first half of 2026 is done. Parang kailan lang ako nag-New Year's resolution sabay kape, and now second half na pala tayo mga manenay!

And honestly? Not everything went according to plan these past 6 months. There were weeks I was so consistent with training, withmy quite time with the Lord, and weeks where my body and my heart just felt heavy.... hormones, exhaustion, caregiving for my parents.

If you've been through things like all these, girl! wa ka gi-inusara dirang dapita. You're not alone in this.

But here's what I keep reminding myself (and you, today): the first half doesn't have to be perfect for the second half to still be good. There's no award for "consistent from January to December, zero misses." But there IS one for "got up again, no matter how many times I was down."

So this July, I'm not starting my life over from scratch; I continue to keep showing up! Simple lang: sleep first, keep training kahit hindi na kasing bilis noon, keep God in the center, and be kinder to myself on the days perimenopause is clearly running the show, not me.

Proverbs 16:9 — "In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps." Even if I didn't plot every step the way I wanted this year, I know Someone else is still establishing them — and it was never mine to carry alone. 🙏

So kumusta naman ang first half niyo, mga mads? What are you carrying into the second half; burnout, breakthrough, or parehas?

Non Fitness Talk: I hope Philippines will also consider doing the same especially 14 years old below! Teach our kids to solve school problems by actually using their brains - to THINK and understand lessons better.

While much of the world races to put AI into classrooms, Norway just decided to pull it out of theirs.

Starting with the new school year in late August, students in first through seventh grade, roughly ages 6 to 13, will generally not be given access to generative AI in the classroom.

Teens aged 14 to 16 can use it, but only under teacher supervision. Older students from 17 to 19 are encouraged to learn how to use AI responsibly for university and work.

Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre said the focus is making sure children first learn to read, write, and do mathematics, pointing to declining test scores among younger students.

Hi mga sissumz at marengs!

My sleep is finally back to around 7 hours most nights — which, after the past couple of months, parang jackpot na 'yan. 🙏

But some Mondays? Gising pa rin ako ng 3 a.m., salamat sa perimenopause at sa utak ko na biglang inisip ang buong buhay ko. 😅

Mid-40s Monday truth: showing up tired is STILL showing up.

I make my coffee. I lower my expectations (lovingly). I say a little prayer that today doesn't need to be perfect to count. Then, we go.

If you're dragging into this Monday too — hala, same same! You're not behind, sis. You're human. Padayon lang ta. ❤️

Women's relationships shouldn't be competitive, catty and not marked by jealousy and manipulation. Women are supposed to be connecting with each other, lifting each other up, point each other's strengths, encourage one another to become better versions of themselves, and celebrate each other's gifts. That's how we can build a stronger community.

Be that kind of woman who make other women go out there and up their game! Inspire, motivate, and encourage! It is the greatest gift we can give to one another and it doesn't cost a dime. 😉😘.

Sis, let me tell you what nobody told me at 25: lifting weights in your 40s is not about getting skinny. It's about getting STRONG. 💪

I want to carry my own bagahe. I want strong bones at 70. I want to chase apo someday without my knees filing a formal complaint.

So every week — dumbbells. Even when I don't feel like it. ESPECIALLY when I don't feel like it.

You don't need a fancy gym, girl! Two days a week. Start where you are.

Monday tayo. Tara, let's go!

Fitness and muscle building experts say we should aim to have 30g of protein per meal to maintain/build muscle mass. I don't know with you guys but at times I find it hard to do all the calculating. Well...hard but not impossible so here's me trying.

Breakfast (9:30AM) after 13 hours of fasting
2 medium eggs (12-14 grams of protein)
1 pack tuna in water (17g of protein accdg to packaging)

Raise your hand kung nag-Google ka na ng "why am I so tired even after sleeping" at 2am. 🙋‍♀️

Same, sis. Same.

For the longest time, I thought I just needed MORE sleep. So I went to bed earlier. Seven hours. Eight hours. Nine hours. And I'd still wake up feeling like I was hit by a jeepney.

Turns out! It wasn't about the hours. It was about what perimenopause was doing to my body WHILE I slept.

🔬 Here's what nobody tells you:

When estrogen and progesterone start dropping in your 40s, your sleep quality tanks — even when the quantity looks fine. Hot flashes wake you up multiple times a night. Cortisol spikes pull you out of deep sleep at 3am. Your brain starts racing and won't stop.

You slept 8 hours. But did you actually REST?

There's a difference. And in perimenopause, that gap is real.

The good news? You don't have to just white-knuckle through it. Small, intentional changes actually help. Here's what worked for me:

✅ Cut caffeine after 1pm (I know. I KNOW.)
✅ A 20-minute wind-down: no screens, dim lights, journaling or prayer
✅ Magnesium glycinate before bed (game-changer — check with your doctor first)
✅ Tracking my symptoms to find patterns
✅ Giving myself permission to REST without guilt
✅ Bringing the sleepless nights to God — some of my most honest prayers happened at 3am in the dark 🙏
