A HEARTFELT THANK YOU FROM THE REGION 10 JUDO ASSOCIATION, INC.
On behalf of the Region 10 Judo Association, Inc. (R10JA), I would like to extend our deepest gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to everyone who, in one way or another, contributed to the success of the 2026 National Judo Kata and Team Championships, which we at R10JA had the honor and privilege of hosting here in Cagayan de Oro.
First and foremost, our sincerest gratitude goes to our co-presentors and partners—the Philippine Sports Commission, the Philippine Judo Federation, and the City Government of Cagayan de Oro under the leadership of Mayor Klarex Uy—for their invaluable support and confidence in R10JA. We likewise extend our deepest appreciation to JCI-Macajalar 24K and JCI-CDO.
Our heartfelt thanks also go to Barangay Nazareth headed by Atty. Regine Rodriquez for allowing us the use of the Nazareth Gymnasium as the venue for the championships.
To all our sponsors and contributors, our friends of judo, and to everyone who extended their support in various ways. Every contribution, whether big or small, played an important part in making this event possible.
To all those who worked behind the scenes, from the planning and preparation to the actual conduct of the championships, thank you for your countless hours of work, sacrifices, coordination, and dedication. Many of the things you did may not have been seen by everyone, but they were certainly felt in the success of the event.
My deepest thanks and appreciation also go to the leadership of the Philippine Judo Federation, especially our very own PJF General Secretary, Ma’am Arline Javonillo, for her unwavering and all-out support. Despite all the hardships, difficulties, challenges, and obstacles encountered by the organizing group along the way, Ma’am Arline remained supportive and encouraging throughout the entire process. Your trust, guidance, and confidence in us meant so much to R10JA.
My apologies that it is only now that I am able to express my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all of you. I needed to let the remaining adrenaline, emotions, and excitement from the event slowly subside before I could fully express what is truly in my heart.😁
And looking back now, I can honestly say that all the hard work was worth it.
The 2026 National Judo Kata and Team Championships was a great success. The positive feedback, admiration, and appreciation we received from our guests, especially from the Philippine Judo Federation Executive Committee, made all the sleepless nights, challenges, difficulties, sacrifices, and moments of uncertainty truly worthwhile.
More importantly, we have proven that our regional chapters, when given the opportunity, trust, and support, are capable of successfully organizing and delivering an event of national level.
This achievement is not only a victory for R10JA. It is a testament to what we in the regions, especially here in Mindanao, can accomplish when we come together, work as one, and pursue one common purpose.
To all the Mindanao Judo chapters and clubs, thank you for your support and participation. Your presence helped make this championship truly meaningful and memorable.
To all our R10JA athletes and visiting athletes, including our brothers and sisters from the Judo National Training Pool, thank you for giving your best on the mat and for showing the true spirit of judo. To our coaches and officials, thank you for your dedication and for guiding our athletes throughout the competition.
To all the parents, families, supporters, volunteers, friends, and everyone who traveled from near and far to be part of this championship, thank you for being there and for continuously supporting our judokas and the sport of judo.
And to everyone who contributed in any way—through financial assistance, sponsorship, equipment, manpower, transportation, logistics, coordination, encouragement, prayers, or simply by lending a helping hand when it was needed—please know that your contribution did not go unnoticed.
This championship has reminded us that judo is much more than what happens on the mat. It is about camaraderie, discipline, respect, friendship, sacrifice, and unity. It is about coming together despite our differences and working toward something bigger than ourselves.
It is also our sincere hope that the success of this event will inspire more people, especially our young athletes, to discover, learn, love, and practice the sport of judo. May this event help strengthen and further develop judo in Mindanao and throughout the Philippines, and may it inspire the next generation of judokas to carry our sport forward.

It was our honor and privilege to serve as your host, and we are truly grateful for the trust given to R10JA and for the opportunity to share this unforgettable experience with the entire Philippine judo community.
This championship may have been hosted by Region 10, but its success belongs to all of us.
May this be another step toward a stronger, bigger, and more united Philippine judo community.
