Today marks the 1st Death Anniversary of our dear Coach Lyndon Lumancas.

It is difficult to put into words the impact he had on us. He was not only a passionate chess player and coach—he was a very kind person, a brother, and someone who genuinely cared about the people around him.
His passion for chess was truly contagious. Beyond the games, titles, and tournaments, what many of us will remember most is the person he was—warm, generous, humble, and always willing to share his time and knowledge.

His presence may no longer be with us at the chessboard, but the lessons, friendship, kindness, and inspiration he left behind continue to live on.

♟️ Some players leave behind victories. Great people leave behind an impact.

You will always be remembered Coach. You will always be our brother. Your passion and legacy live on in all of us. ❤️♟️

Our very own GCF Founder, Sir Benoni Wabe, attended the Integrated Institute of Electrical Engineers (IIEE) Chess Tournament at SM Downtown, where he had the opportunity to experience an exciting new variation of the game—Mobile King Chess. 🔥

Unlike traditional chess, the objective is not checkmate. Instead, players must guide their King to the center of the round board to claim the Excalibur, blending classic chess strategy with a thrilling King Arthur-inspired quest.

Innovation keeps the game alive, and we're excited to learn more about this unique and fascinating version of chess! ♟️✨
