Mens sana in corpore sano
“A healthy mind in a healthy body.”

The result of true karate is natural, effortless action, and the confidence, humility, openness and peace only possible through perfect unity of mind and body. This is the core teaching of Zen, the basis of Bushido, and the basis of the JKA’s karate philosophy.

Run-Hide-Fight

The City Community Affairs and Development Unit (CCADU) of PNP Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) through Assistant Chief PMAJ Sabino Bacalan Labitad, PSSg Aere John M. Fajardo, and PCMS Kenneth E. Montaño shared a full package seminar workshop on Comprehensive Strategies for Personal Safety and Assault Response including the SOP: In Response to Active Threats on Campus. The seminar workshop emphasized the important things to do when in danger; a simulation was also done to assess whether the participants were able to grasp the inputs from the guest speakers.

Karate as a Self-defense

The seminar workshop had the 2nd part with the head instructor of JKA NKKPI CDO-COC, Sensei SJ A. Halibas. The participants were taught basic karate techniques in blocking and counterattacking, the JKA way.

The best self-defense is to run from danger or from an assailant when there’s still a chance to run. Confronting the danger or assailant will not make you a hero or remarkable, especially when the assailant is armed. However, when in need, everyone should be equipped or knowledgeable about what to do in defense of yourself.

JKA NKK Philippines, Inc. CDO-COC

"PREVENTION is better than cure"
they say but what if you really encounter the unexpected assailants at the streets of Yakal and Lirio in Carmen, in Burgos and Capistrano Streets, or in Corrales Street? How would you react? What would you do? What's the best way to escape?

This seminar workshop is your best option in equipping yourself with basic techniques FOR FREE. COC SBO and RSO core officers, Join us on September 10, 1:00 PM at Karate Gym 2! Be the first to experience this and probably this is not the last for your college department! See you there! Ossu
