Is the Victor NCS Pro shuttlecock genuinely good—or simply overhyped?

We put it through on-court testing and gathered direct feedback from our members. Here is a clear summary of what stood out.

Pros
Consistent early flight stability. Performs and feels comparable to a traditional feather shuttlecock.

Above-average durability in moderate play. Holds up well in rallies that are not smash-heavy or power-focused.

Usable flight despite minor damage. Even with two to three damaged feathers, overall flight remains acceptable.

Cons
Limited longevity under high-intensity conditions. In fast-paced, competitive games with frequent smashes, durability drops quickly.

Verdict

The Victor NCS Pro is not merely hype, but its strengths are situational. It performs well in terms of initial flight stability and feel, closely resembling a traditional feather shuttlecock, and offers respectable durability in moderate, control-oriented play.

However, in high-intensity, smash-heavy matches, its lifespan is noticeably limited.

Overall, the NCS Pro is a solid option for training sessions, club play, or games that prioritize consistency over power, but it may fall short as a primary shuttle for competitive, fast-paced matches.
