Joseph Bañares , a cherished member of our dragon boat community. A brother and mentor to young paddlers. On the water, he embodied the spirit of strength, perseverance, and teamwork, pulling each stroke with unwavering dedication.

The rhythm of his paddle was more than just motion; it was the heartbeat of his team. Beyond the boat, he was a source of light and camaraderie—lifting our spirits in moments of challenge and celebrating with us in triumph. The laughter, the stories, and the quiet moments shared between races will remain etched in our hearts.

Though the waters may feel still without his presence, we carry his legacy forward. We do so with his memory guiding the Davao teams on every stroke we take, every race we face. We feel the void he left, and our grief is a testament to the impact he had on our lives.

Paddle in peace, our dearest Coach/Sir/Kuya Joseph. You have been a part of the HMD crew. Above all, you became our brother. Until we meet again. 🕊️🐉
