Before this day ends, we at the CSU-UFC would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended yesterday's Ultimate Frisbee Clinic. While we didn't expect such a big turnout, we were beyond stoked to see an energetic and enthusiastic crowd! Your presence made the event a flying success, and we hope you had as much fun learning and playing as we did hosting. 💥🥏

𝗙𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗯𝗲𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘇𝘆: 𝗖𝗦𝗨-𝗨𝗙𝗗𝗖 𝘀𝗼𝗮𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀

In the world of traditional collegiate sports dominance, a new era is slowly emerging across Caraga State University. The surge of Frisbee within the university’s vibrant community with students increasingly embracing the inclusive, dynamic nature of the sport.

From once a casual pastime activity to becoming a competitive staple on the campus, captivating both athletes and students alike. This sparked the establishment of CSU’s Ultimate Flying Disc Confederation led by a third-year Biology student Odessey Monton.

Dedication and overcoming doubts served as the driving force behind the creation of CSU-UFDC. Fascinated by the disc gliding through the air, eliciting awe, and the artistry it holds as part of the Physical Education curriculum became the factors that contributed to Frisbee’s popularity, Monton remarked.

Thus, being committed to building inclusivity and diversity within students, UFDC members actively teach students and show on-the-field guidance to cultivate camaraderie.

However, the journey to founding the organization was not without its hurdles, including finalizing the requirements for organizational accreditation and selecting someone to take the role of leading the organization, Monton admitted.

Conversely, looking beyond the campus borders and fostering the spirit of the game, Monton outlined plans to engage a broader reach through hosting regular sessions open to all enthusiasts, conducting clinics, and organizing tournaments.

While collaborations within the university’s organization are still in the works, Monton remains optimistic about future partnerships to expand and create opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaborations.

After everything they went through and despite the challenges, Monton is buoyed to see students from diverse backgrounds come together through Frisbee and its positive impact on CSU’s campus.

In actuality, Frisbee is a gateway to friendship, a bridge that connects individuals outside of their classes, and a sense of community is what true success entails.

As the sun sets over the CSU campus, the sound of laughter and whirring of discs fill the air, the Frisbee community continues to grow, and one thing is certain: the sky’s the limit for this exhilarating sport. With Monton and his team leading the charge, Frisbee fever shows no signs of slowing down at Caraga State University.
