Question: When you are talking about God, are you implying the existence of a God [...] responsible for having created and controlled everything that we have in the world today?

MAHARISHI: "God is that Almighty who has set up this wheel of creation and evolution in an automatic way.

We see everything that comes up, that is born, evolves, evolves, and evolves. Innumerable beings in Creation, innumerable things... and the whole process of evolution continues, continues... That Great Almighty has set this automatic machine of creation and evolution of the entire universe. That is God.

It'll be good not to lay too much emphasis on God... because my main message, even to those who want to realize God, is to lay emphasis on Self-realization, unfold their full potentiality, be a full man, be a complete man, be a glorified fully developed individual... and THEN think of God. And THEN God-realization will not be far away.

It's very necessary that we don't waste our time on God till we have really become capable of that high aspiration and achievement... and that is realization of Self-consciousness, realization of the Self."
