you might be surpris

we can help you avoid wasting time and effort in starting your own edible garden. If you patronize local products or if you’re looking for ways to reduce your carbon footprint…
you can’t get any more local than getting food from your own backyard. You can GROW YOUR OWN FOOD, let us show you how to DO IT RIGHT the first time!

Between the farm-gate and your dinner plate, the price of vegetables increase by 300 to 400%. Here in the Philippines, the “farm-gate price” is not the price set by the farmer but is actually the price paid by the trader, regardless of whether this is enough to cover all costs. The farmer takes all the risk, from droughts, to typhoons, to pests and disease, but the middlemen take the lion’s share of the profit.

Here at ARTFARM, we employ a circular production system that keep us independent from the problems of conventional food supply chains. Even with the ongoing fuel and energy crisis, our human-scale, solar-powered, zero-waste farm production allow us to produce affordable vegetables for our hyperlocal community.

Take a look at how far 295 pesos can go when you buy organic produce directly from us. With each ARTFARM VegBox, you’ll get 1.5kg worth of seasonal vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, radishes, swiss chard, arugula, lettuce and herbs.

In the middle of the ongoing fuel crisis and climate extremes, how can small farms thrive?

While practicing regenerative organic farming is already out of the “conventional”, there are situations where we remain trapped by the systemic problems of Philippine agriculture. We are left to negotiate with produce distributors, depend on logistics providers, wrestle with inflation on inputs derived off farm.

Conventional, fuel-driven food production and distribution leaves our food system insecure especially in times of crises. We need more food to be grown locally, consumed locally, produced with the shortest supply chain and the smallest ecological footprint.

Our food system is fragile and where one farm is too small to be fighting these battles alone, collective resilience may be built by empowering small farms to feed local communities.

ARTFARM Sustainable Solutions is producing more food than ever with a production system that is human-scale, sun-powered, fossil fuel-free, circular, and ecologically sustainable. Your support of produce grown by small, local farms like us is an investment that goes beyond the plate---you are helping to secure the future of food through sustainable farming systems.

Summer's here and we are feeling the heat! But despite the high temps, we've had groups of learners from UPLB visit us here in the farm over the past weeks.

ASYS 120 class looked at chickens and ducks and bees, how we manage and feed them, to better understand crop-animal integration in organic farming systems.

The pioneer batch of the Executive Course in Culinary Science and Nutrition came to see our microfarm up close, following our lecture on organic certification and utilization of organic produce which was held online.

The team from the Dean's office of the College of Human Ecology learned about our circular agriculture practices and growing food in small spaces, and how these can be replicated on campus.

Our farm is tiny and we have no facilities for training or accommodating large groups, but when we can, we share a bit of our time and experiences about growing organically, living sustainably, and running a social enterprise with the support of our family and local community.

With every peso you spend for food, how much of this actually reaches the farmer? Filipino farmers are working harder than ever but earning less. The real issue isn't the absence of a market. Everybody eats. The problem is that our current food system forgets the grower. We are here to change the landscape.

We believe supply chains can be shorter and more transparent. We are here to bring value back to the farm, so that:
💸 every peso you spend on food pays for food--not fuel, not packaging, not warehousing or refrigeration
💸 every peso you spend on food pays for good food--not pesticides, not preservatives, but clean, safe, organic produce
💸 every peso you spend on food benefits you and the farmer the most

Is organic produce expensive? Yes, it can be. Once produce leaves the farm, it moves through a much bigger system of transport, storage, and distribution. Each stage with its own added cost.

But when you buy direct from the farmer, it’s a very different story.

Take a look at how far 295 pesos can go when you buy organic produce directly from us. With each ARTFARM VegBox, you’ll get 1.5kg worth of the following:

🌿 Lettuce
🌿 Arugula
🌿 Swiss chard
🌿 Perilla
🌿 Herbs
🍅 Tomato
🍆 Eggplant
🍠 Radish

Easily a week’s worth of veggies for a small household (according to 2026 PSA data)

Plus you have the added benefit of:
🌱 Knowing your local farmer
🌱 Knowing your food is grown organically and fossil fuel-free
🌱 Getting produce harvested on the same day (fresh is best!)

This is where buying direct from farmers makes a world of difference. Because the closer you are to the source of your food, the less exposed you are to all the costs and wastage in between.

Order your first ARTFARM VegBox today for only P295.
Limited slots, DM to reserve.
Available every 2nd & 4th Tuesday of the month.

The UPLB College of Human Ecology (CHE), in partnership with CHE Alumni Association, HUMEIN Philippines Inc., and Meralco Sustainability Office, conferred the Human Ecology in Leadership and Sustainability (HEALS) Individual Category Award to Andrea Karina Alforte (BS Human Ecology, 2004), co-founder of ARTFARM Sustainable Solutions, for her pioneering work in promoting sustainable agriculture and community-centered environmental initiatives. Through ARTFARM, Alforte has championed practices that nurture biodiversity and resilience while demonstrating how sustainable food systems can thrive even on a small-scale farm.

In her message, Alforte reflected on the deeper purpose of sustainability work. For her, sustainability represents a commitment that goes beyond present gains. “I personally think sustainability is the noblest of all pursuits,” she said, emphasizing that the benefits of such work are not limited to the present generation. “Not a single person stands to benefit from the work we do now—it is for our children and our children’s children.”

The UPLB College of Human Ecology (CHE), in partnership with the CHE Alumni Association (CHE AA), HUMEIN Philippines, Inc., and SM Prime, successfully
