Something new is coming next week. We're giving mnlbicycle.club a full reskin, and we're adding what you've been asking for: COD and credit card payments on the website, more pick-up locations aside from our Pasig HQ, and a smoother pre-order process. We wanted it to be more fun, not just for you but for us too 🫶

While we put the finishing touches on everything, our Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok shops will be on vacation mode starting tonight. We'll also use the downtime to check inventory and bring in some restocks. We'll be back next week with restocked shops and a brand-new website, then roll out the rest of the updates in phases over the following weeks.

Costs have been climbing across the board this year, and we're doing what we can to keep our prices steady for as long as possible.

When we reopen, our marketplace prices will go up a little to cover the added costs of selling through those platforms. Our website prices will stay the same. So if you've been buying from us through the apps, mnlbicycle.club will now be the better deal.

After a year-long hiatus, I finally made a sequel to the first episode of my adventures in Japan.

It took a lot of courage to start again, but here we are, doing better.

This is one of the first bikes that I photographed when we visited Brotures Osaka last year. This is Sol's Cinelli Mash Steel. By the looks of it, the bike truly served its purpose. One thing that I noticed was that most of them liked using AARN Chainrings. I've seen several AARNs on their bike builds, even the rare ones.

A little story: We went to Osaka to meet a friend (Yuma Wada) because I wanted to photograph his bike personally, but the funny thing is, he doesn't know how to speak English. Good thing Sol was there (the owner of this bike) to serve as my translator, although I was too shy to communicate with them because I was afraid that Sol might get tired of translating every exchange of words that we had.

Minikim's Trick Track MASH

I was genuinely amazed by this kid's skills on a fixed gear bike. At just 13 years old, Minikim can pull off an impressive lineup of freestyle tricks on his Mash Steel. At first glance, you'd think it's just an ordinary steel bike.. no flashy components, no expensive bling, nothing that screams "high-end." But that's exactly what makes it cool.

I also love how he incorporated locally made components like Punchblues' faceplate and top cap. They're almost a staple in the Korean fixed gear scene, and you'll find them in most local bike shops. The color coordination is another highlight. Simple, clean, and perfectly put together.

For Minikim (the owner of this bike), the bike is a tool meant to be ridden hard. He doesn't hesitate to throw it around while linking trick after trick, never worrying about scratches or dents. It's simply doing what it was built for.

Watching the fixed gear scene in Korea firsthand was eye-opening. The kids there ride with an incredible level of confidence and commitment. I've seen riders throwing long skids down steep descents on full-carbon bikes without a second thought. They're more focused on riding than preserving their equipment.

Back home in the Philippines, it's often the opposite. Carbon bikes are treated like delicate relics, always kept spotless, carefully handled, and rarely allowed to touch the ground. In Korea, the mindset is different: bikes are meant to be used, pushed to their limits, and enjoyed without fear.

Different cultures and different perspectives. Seeing that fearless approach to riding was something I'll never forget.
