What an exceptional exhibition match between Basista Chess Club and Maghari Chess Club! Held on May 17, 2026 at the Basista Auditorium, this event showcased the passion and dedication of both teams. Though it was only an exhibition game, both clubs gave their utmost effort to honor their organizations. Every battle was intense, and as in any competition, there must be winners, and Maghari Chess Club proved why they are recognized as one of the fastest‑growing chess clubs in Pangasinan 🙌

Maghari Chess Club claimed victory in both the U14 and Open categories. Still, full admiration goes to the Basista Chess Club players, who fought with courage and determination until the very last round. This kind of match‑up is truly a remarkable and memorable experience👏

We sincerely thank Maghari Chess Club for accepting the invitation and visiting Basista. Special appreciation goes to the President of Maghari Chess Club Jaden Frias Alegria, who helped lead and plan this dream match, alongside the dedicated officers of Basista Chess Club.

We are also grateful to all the players who participated, even without major prizes, they joined purely for the love of chess. Above all, we extend our thanks to those who supported and contributed to the success of this event, especially Coach Manolito Aguilar, Sir Mak Frias Rezultay, Sir Butch Mamaradlo, Sir Jimuelle Frias and the BCC Officers for hosting the match.

Looking ahead, we hope to see more match‑ups like this and more chess clubs joining in the spirit of friendly competition 😊

Basista Chess Club’s 1st Chess Clinic was a smashing success! 🥳

On April 18, 2026, the Basista Gymnasium came alive with the energy of more than 30 young chess enthusiasts, eager to learn and play. Two sessions: one for beginners and another for intermediate players, gave kids the chance to sharpen their skills, win surprise prizes, and discover the joy of chess.🥰

The clinic was expertly facilitated by National Arbiter & Maghari Chess Club President, Jaden Frias Alegria, and hosted by Dumpay National High School teacher and official BCC Arbiter, Michelle Frias Bautista 👏

Adding even more excitement, an exhibition match between Senior and Junior BCC members kept everyone on the edge of their seats! After 7 rounds, the Seniors claimed victory with 24.5 points, while the Juniors fought hard with 20.5. It was a close, hard-fought battle that showcased the talent and determination of both sides.
