History and the Future

Two Water Ski Philippine Corporations were founded approx 10 years ago. Operations were due to commence July 2012 however tragedy struck in May 2012 as the 40 foot container van was dropped on location causing serious damage to both wate
r ski boats and much equipment and personnal effects. A Pro Water Ski shop, Ocean Dirt, being the Philippines' first Pro Shop was opened in September 2013 and the water activities of the operation together with a web page including an on line shop were due to go live on the internet and commence on December 01 2013. Again tragedy struck in Tacloban City on November 08 2013 when Super Typhoon Haiyan / Yolanda that gusted to 315km/hr coupled with a 7 meter sea surge destroyed the area including the 40 foot container van that was totally destroyed and with days all the contents of both the van and the shop were 100% looted. Much other damage and losses were also sustained by the Corporation during the super typhoon. During May to September 2014 the Corporation purchased river lots near Basey on Samar and were to
start construction late 2014 of a small water ski/wakeboard resort ,the first of it kind in the Philippines. Again tragedy struck where an employee of 2.5 years defrauded funds in late 2014 that were allocated for permits in completing a consolidated survey plan for the river lot.The Survey plan should now be available fully approved by mid 2017. Also in February/March 2017, 815 pieces of steel rebar and many other building supplies in store ready for the construction to recommence were all stolen. The Corporation is now in process of redistribution of assets and should recommence construction at the river lot by mid 2017/ beginning 2018 by which time water activities shall commence including water skiing,wakeboarding,knee boarding,barefoot water skiing and banana boat rides for the less enthusiastic..The Corporation employs an accredited Water Ski Coach as recognized Internationally. Due COVID the water ski business has been further delayed with a new anticipated opening late 2022 or early 2023.
