Richard Liao Fitness I help people discover fitness as a tool to fully celebrate life. Growing up with anxiety, fitness taught him how to love himself.

Richard Liao is a Functional Fitness, Intuitive Nutrition and Holistic Health coach who specializes in strength, mobility and aerobic capacity. Through strengthening his body and mind, he learned the value of hard work and a growth mindset. Driven by how fitness changed his life, he became a full-time Health Coach. Certified by the American Council on Exercise, Precision Nutrition, Pronatal Fitnes

s and REBEL Philippines, he aims to help individuals from all walks of life discover fitness as a tool to fully celebrate life. As a coach and athlete, his fitness philosophy is simple - to get "fit for the long run." Through online and in-person platforms, he work with clients all over the world and help them become their best selves with personalized programs that promote functional fitness, intuitive nutrition and holistic health for every stage of their lives. Outside his career, Richard enjoys exploring different modalities of mindful movement, trail running, and immersing himself in nature.

At the recent Rethink Healthy Summit, the conversations went beyond the physical.

It was about mental strength, financial well-being, and the authenticity and courage to have honest, human conversations.

These things matter because they shape how we live every day. I also had the chance to guide a short movement meditation to kick off the event. Just a simple reminder that in the middle of all the and noise… we can pause.

For longevity, we don't need a lot of intensity. The right balance of strength, aerobic and mobility training is different for each one. I like to listen to my body to know the right dosage at any given time. If it's been a busy week, I simply dial back. If I feel more rested, I take take the chance to ramp up. Our body knows best. Problems often arise when we think more than we can understand, do more than what our body can take and speak more than we can listen. Finding balance will take us far. Just be still and listen.

Lazy day workout for strength and energy ☀️🌊

Push up knee tucks - 3x10

Fitness for me has evovled from intense "training" for competitions, to "workouts" during the pandemic, to "micro-exercising", scattered exercises throughout the day to the occasional easy runs. It's been a season of slowing down and been loving every bit of it. More mindful, more time, more energy.⚡️

Many of us who fall in love with fitness carry a deep desire to rise above our burdens, limitations, or pain. But often, we get caught in a cycle of constantly trying to fix, prove, or improve ourselves. There’s always something we dislike... something we're chasing, some ideal version of who we think we should be.

I’m all for self-growth, but maybe not when it’s rooted in lack, frustration or self-blame...

What if our best version is already here? The unpolished, unrefined. The one that feels deeply, authentic, contented with what is.

This is my journey with Somatic Breathwork, a practice of letting go of perfection, of releasing the need to constantly "be better" and instead, balancing fitness and healing. Balancing contraction and expansion.

Feeling infinite by leaning into the present moment. ♾️

It’s about regulating the nervous system. Not through the pressure of overdoing, consuming, or performing.

Not 1% better everyday but imperfectly moving 2 steps forward, 1 step back.

Deeply grateful to have held space last June 11 with with .collective where I shared a short Somatic Breathwork practice to help participants feel immersed, engaged and fully connected.

Every good day starts with a great night's sleep. 🌙

But today, more distractions are upon us that disrupt our sleep patterns. Chronic stress and worrying, constantly being in flight or flight, light pollution, and too many stimulants make it harder to fall and stay asleep.

When we have poor sleep quality, it's harder to stay healthy and well.

Insomnia is rampant, but the good news is, there are many ways to reclaim your body clock. 🌞

Join me in this class where I guide you on how to breathe to clear your mind and relax your body. I'll also share lifestyle habits that you can apply to consistently improve your sleep.
