Victory in BKYD Jiu Jitsu - Zambales Fightfest 3!
But more than the wins, we leave the tournament feeling victorious because of the lessons, the experience, and the things we can take home to improve moving forward. Every match showed us where we’re growing and where the real work still continues.
We’re proud of Jo Sef Ford for how composed he stayed the whole time. He was patient in his exchanges in no gi, moved well from quasi mount to back control, and eventually got the armbar. In his gi match, although he fell short, what stood out most was how hard he made it for his opponent to pass—his guard held strong, and even from turtle he stayed active, turning defense into chances to reset and reverse.
We’re also proud of John Kevin for staying calm under pressure. Even in tough scrambles and bad positions, he didn’t rush anything. He stayed composed, worked through the chaos, defended well, and capitalized on the opening to secure the armbar finish.
We also want to extend our gratitude to Coach MoRî Jjî of La Trinidad Jiu Jitsu and Delos Santos Bethel-j for stepping in on short notice. No full preparation, but he showed heart, accepted the challenge, and still went out there to compete the right way.
A special thank you as well to Reset and Run for the support they extended to us. We truly appreciate the trust and help. They’re also holding their upcoming Fun Run on May 31, 2026, and we’re happy to support and encourage everyone to check it out and join.
All in all, it was a reminder for us to stay humble in victory, stay hungry in learning, and keep showing up. Just as what our roots, Tribal Submission Philippines and Coach villareal always says, Respect all, fear none!
