Today at the MICES Gym, 30 young Bacolodnon girls laced up to train directly with the Gilas Pilipinas U18 Women’s Team. Through a powerhouse partnership between the city and the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP), elite, national-level standards were brought straight to our local hardwood.

Running drills alongside the country's top athletes changes the game entirely. Our young hoopers absorbed the exact plays, intense discipline, and winning mindset required to dominate. Getting this close to the action gives them a realistic, hands-on look at exactly what it takes to represent Bacolod—and eventually the nation—on the biggest stages.

Bacolod City is introducing a fresh approach to urban development with the deployment of the new "G Barriers" (Green Barriers) along the Circumferential Road east area.

In a first for the city, these portable dividers offer a practical, dual-purpose design: safely guiding traffic while serving as homes for plants that will grow bigger and greener.
