Did you know that brushless dc (Direct Current) motors used in our drones are actually 3 phase ac (Alternating Current) motor? They are powered by a dc power source thru lipo battery. This dc supply is then altered by the ESC (Electronic Speed Controller) to produce a rotating magnetic field in the stator which then attracts the rotor, causing in to rotate.
