*Farewell Speech for Dr. Duncan Banarbas*

Goodnight purple pride family 💜⚡💯,

Today we gather as one family under the banner of our proud Purple Pride Club to bid farewell to a remarkable leader, mentor, and brother — Dr. Duncan Banarbas. Tomorrow Thursday, he will begin a new chapter of his journey as he departs for Australia to pursue a great opportunity. While we are sad to see him go, we are filled with pride and gratitude for the legacy he leaves behind.

From the very beginning of our club’s journey in 2021, when we started from scratch with nothing but determination and faith, Duncan has been there — serving tirelessly as our Club Doctor, trainer, leader, and brother. His commitment, discipline, and leadership have shaped the spirit and strength of this club. He has been more than a medical officer; he has been a motivator, a mentor, and a true example of service and humility.

We also take this moment to commend all our Day 1 players who stood firm since the club’s formation. Together, they built the foundation of what we proudly represent today. Special recognition goes to our hardworking leaders who have walked this journey with us — Duncan Banarbas, Duwe James, Mr. Warwakai, Mr. Dockta Urame, Carlson Thomas, Freddy Arinaso, Jameson Enny, Gedion Dalepa, Saru Dudu, Michael Ulam, Sailas Seth, Bobby Sawang, Ruben Woti, Anna Suap, Agnes Deve, Christine Jacob, Janneth Duncan, Baike Wewenu, and Grace Gesam.

We also remember with respect and gratitude our past leaders and coaches who have guided us through different seasons, especially Mighty Coach Willie Guambo and Job Jackson. Their leadership continues to inspire the team today.

To our 13A brothers and sisters, thank you for your unwavering support and contribution to the club’s growth.

Our appreciation also extends to our Day 1 Nursing Students — Goi Norman, Zerome Kaupa, Gedion Mauwe, Moses, Ramcy Puri, Augustin Kapil, Jack Tumun, Abigail Mondo, Alisha Pawa, and all the nursing boys who have been part.

Completing his Diploma in General Nursing in 2025 while playing competitive rugby shows the same discipline and commitment he brings to training and game day. He’s a professional on and off the field.

Special Announcement – LBC Bombers BBR Storm RFL Club

Hi Team,

This is a special toksave to all male players, both Under 20 and Senior A Grade boys.

First of all, we (management) acknowledge your trial match played on Saturday. Upon this trial match we have gathered information and made few selections based on your performance. This week will be our final week to slot each Divisions in final squads.

For the 2026 season, management has introduced a special arrangement to promote gender equity within our club. Each male player who brings one female player to join our team will have both registration fees (his and hers) fully covered by management.

If a male player does not bring a female player to join, he will be required to pay the full registration fee.

This offer applies only to selected players for the 2026 season and will run this week only on a first come, first serve basis.

Once the number of new female players reaches 25–30, the offer will close. If the number of female players remains below that range, any male player who successfully brings a female player to join will still qualify for the free registration arrangement.

All male players are urged to spread awareness and encourage female players to join our team. Please share this message with teammates and friends who are not part of this group to ensure wider reach.

This will be our first time traveling out to Panu as we begin our journey to participate in the Kande 9s Rugby League Tournament, which will be held in Madang Province. We are placed in Pool A, competing among a total of 44 strong teams.

Way to Go School Boys Rugby Program in East Sepik Province 🇵🇬

BISHOP Leo Secondary School has made history by winning the first-ever East Sepik School League rugby league competition, finishing the season undefeated.

They edged out their close rivals and brothers, Maprik Secondary School, with a strong 16-8 victory to lift the inaugural Cup.

“I want to congratulate all the players for their commitment, dedication and resilience. This is what we aimed for, and it finally happened,” head coach Althor W***y told The National.
