48 Years of Life, 100% Resilience.
They say the wind blows hardest at the top of the mountain. Today, on my rooftop, it felt like a metaphor.
At 48, my practice looks different than it did in my 20s. I’m currently navigating a fractured lower spine, along with hip and shoulder injuries. Add in a ceremonial fast that has me feeling physically weak, and the “old me” might have stayed in bed.
But the “new me” knows that yoga isn’t about the advanced poses of my youth; it’s about the physical therapy of the soul.
It’s about holding that shoulderstand despite the injuries, despite the wind, and despite the hunger. It’s not about being perfect—it’s about being present.
