Summer is nearly here and Athletics is too.

First up we have our AGM, Tuesday 15th September, Edendale Tavern 7.30pm.

Lots of athletics events this season including Southland hosting the 2027 Colgate Games.

The athletic track and field season started well for Wyndam’s Zoe Muir, got better as it went, but there’s still more to come.

A few reminders:
🏃 The fees for those who have just come in term 1 are $40/athlete. Please pay this into the club account

Wyndham Amateur Athletic Club

🏃‍♀️ Every child or teenager who attends must be signed in. Under 16's by a parent or guardian.

🏃Yes, parents you are expected to help some weeks. We are not a child-minding service. Those children under 8 should have a caregiver or someone assigned to look after them each week.

🏃‍♀️ Those who entered the Southland Children's Champs a couple of weeks ago, please pay your fees to the club account above. You need to pay for all events you entered, even if you didn't actually do them all. See Jane if you can't remember how much to pay.

🏃 For those attending Southland Primary School Champs, our BBQ spot is from 12pm to 1.30 pm. There are lots of you there, so come tonight with a 45min slot that suits you, and we'll have this covered.

🏃‍♀️ Prize Giving and final night next Tuesday.

Cross fingers for the weather to improve but it is looking likely to be an inside night. Will need lots of helpers!!!! Bring jackets if it is not to wet we will head out to do some running at the end! Please don't drop and run..... the club can only function with your help!

Whats happening this week!
Club nights - All the clubs in Southland have their club nights starting this week.
If you are interested head along and give it a go.

Coaching Day – Saturday 11 October for athletes 10 and older as well as interested parents and club coaches.

Waverley Shield and Senior Athletics Meeting – Sunday 12 October at Surrey Park
5- 7 year old – 10 am start
8-10 year olds – 11 am start
11-14 year olds – 12.30pm start
14+ (aka seniors) first event approx 9.45am – google entry form and times will be available soon

First Waverley Shield of the season this Sunday 12th October. Athletes need to be registered by Thursday night this week to score points for their clubs. Parent help required at each event. No entry required just turn up ready to go at the first event. Any questions ask your clubs first.
