Good news! Good news! Good news!
it appears we will be able to open TheGYM under level 2! Finanl requirements are still be released but we should be able to operate within them. they will no doubt centre on things like distancing, size of groups (which we know is 10 at this stage) and gear contact. Numbers won't be an issue because of our size, membership wise. When was the last time you were at TheGYM and more than 10 people were present?
Personal hygeine has always been member responsibility and will be under level 2, as well as looking after other gym users. there maybe a need to change exercise routines to accommodate caring for the health of others. If you are going to be doing more than 1 set of an exercise and others are present, complete your total number of sets before changing exercise. this means less cleaning for you! It will be imperative that all equipment parts touched by you are wiped down - dumbells and barbells included.
Protocol of use will be displayed on the desk beside the attendance sheet. It will also be imperative that this be completed as a 'contact register' is an operational requirement under the terms of Level 2.
Hand sanitiser and disenfectant wipes have been ordered but may not arrive before Thursday 14 for start of level 2. There are antiseptic sprays already available for use at TheGYM for equipment wipe down, and may be suitable for hand sanitisation.
Classes. Because of the maximum gathering size of 10, Senior Circuit classes will not be able to start. This age group is also indentified as 'at higher risk' so we need to look after you peoples. We will wait until larger gatherings are permitted and we will start with slightly different exercises. Get out walking when you can. Visit internet sites previously posted.
Women only circuit. Due to the size of this group, being less than 10, these classes will be able to start. However, protocol for this class will alter and such commencement will be delayed until Tuesday 19, to give time for hand sanitiser and antiseptic wipes to arrive.
COVID-19 is still out there. Play it safe.
Keep your distance from other people in public.
If you’re sick, stay home. Don’t go to work or school. Don’t socialise. Don't visit TheGYM! Keep us all safe!
If you have symptoms of cold or flu call your doctor or Healthline and get tested.
Wash your hands. Wash your hands. Wash your hands.
Sneeze and cough into your elbow, regularly disinfect surfaces.
If we all work together, monitor our own actions, we can all exercise safely under Level 2. It is up to YOU to ensure the exercise environment is kept safe and that you exercise safely. You are, after all, adults and should be trusted to behave like responsible adults.
Welcome back to exercise from Thursday 14 May 2020!
