If anyone has junior cricket gear in good condition that their children are no longer using - or no longer fit - please contact the club or Amy English directly.

The newly created school teams are looking for helmets, gloves and pads to fit year 7-8 students. And size 4, 5 or 6 bats.

🏏 Opportunity for our Year 9 - Year 10 cricket players 🏏

Northern Districts Cricket, in collaboration with Auckland Cricket, are looking at running a junior secondary school boys tournament, and a junior secondary schools girls tournament in Auckland, during the November junior tournament week starting 17th November 2025.

If you are interested in attending on behalf of Mercury Bay please register your interest with Leisa at MBAS before the end of this week (Friday 28th February).

If we can make a team enough Mercury Bay Cricket Club will run training sessions to build the teams skills. We will try and take advantage of indoor cricket and see if we can get some earlier games against Thames Valley teams.

How do we make it happen -

🏏 we require 12 players to form a team
🏏 you must currently be in Year 9 or Year 10
🏏 parental support will be required to attend, this is not a school run event
🏏 this will be a full week off school
🏏 costs TBC, however transport & accomodation will have to be taken into account

Hi all - we are still looking for players to join our term 1 cricket teams.
Registrations are open until Tuesday when we will need to confirm numbers for Northern Districts Cricket.

All teams practice at Moewai Park on a Thursday after school.

We have options for the following age groups -

Year 3-5 soft ball - a social setting suitable for absolute beginners, teams meet for games 2-3 times a month

Year 5-6 hard ball - play every Saturday around the peninsula

Year 7-8 hard ball - play every Saturday around the peninsula

Watch out for our junior cricket players at the start of the test in Hamilton today. They have been invited to be the flag bearers in the opening ceremony. Nice work Mercury Bay! Have fun out there kids 🥰

Just a reminder that our cricket super smash hubs are underway. If the kids are keen to give it a go come down to Moewai Park on Thursday 3.30-4.30.
The sessions run until 12th December.

Hi to our junior cricket players 🏏

Practice starts this Thursday. Please be at Moewai Park at 4pm ready to warm up for a 4.15pm start.

If we need to cancel due to weather we will make a call by 2pm and advise via the team messenger group and Facebook.

👟 Closed shoes are required - no crocs! No shoes no play, sorry.

We don’t have a 5-6 coach at present so Damon will look after both teams for a bit. Any parental help will be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately we have not had enough interest to field a Year 9-10 team. We are still working on options for this age group so please watch this space.
We will be in touch to organise refunds to those players who have registered.

The draw for the season is not out as yet and we don’t expect to see it until Thursday (like every other year). We will probably only get the first weeks game and then the rest will follow… we will advise as soon as we can.
