Well it's official, Apollo and I have been selected to compete at in the freestyle event.

Apollo has been out of the wild 2years and a few months, although his intense training stopped after the Freedom to Friendship challenge, he has been slowly ticking along he helps out with kids camps and is a great horse for shifting stock. Although he has only been back in work 3 weeks working towards equifest. He is loving the new challenges I am giving him and has retained and excelled all the previous training.

I am hoping to create a special performance for everyone.

Exactly a year ago today a little brown stallion with bling arrived on the truck after just been mustered days before. What a crazy journey this has been, to train a completely wild horse in what was originally 6 months that turned into 9 months for a competition that got turned into a online one. The stallion challenge feels somewhat incomplete not being able to showcase at Equifest. Apollo is in some ways still that same little wild horse that came off the truck and I think that will always stay with him, even after a year his personality is still growing. Apollo happy one year of adventures, cuddles, lots of feed, new friends and domestic life!

Apollo had his first Working Equitation competition in prelim on Sunday had never been in a dressage arena before, and after a few spooks handled it very well to take away a 4th, his obstacles were a breeze getting 4th and speed obstacles even better for 3rd, super happy with him! 9 months undersaddle after being in the wild for 6 years, super happy to come away with a ribbon, lots to work and and give him more experience.

Apollo had his first show today! We did a cowboy challenge and man did he exceed my expectations! First time in a foreign place, heaps of horses, vehicles etc not to mention having to focus on the obstacles, he was a super star! Got 5th which I'm super happy with as I was only taking him out for experience 😍

Just like that the KHH Stallion challenge is over! Although the comp is over that doesn’t mean the training ends there, Apollo has had a well-deserved break and I will bring him in for more schooling and working towards some little events. I will post updates on here just not as often.
